I dont think its about cap hit as much as it is about 7 years for Kreider. I just dont think the Rangers are going to do 7 years unless it were at like 5M or something crazy like that.

I was hoping to get something done with Kreider but I understand the 7 year sticking point. Good on Gorton for wanting to re-sign him though. He'll do really well in July. We need to bring back a lot for him. If Fast goes too---he should at least bring a 2nd. He's exactly the kind of player a playoff bound team would want in their bottom 6.

If we can move Staal and/or Lundqvist as well that will be good. Brendan Smith hopefully will move too.

Dallas seems much liklier than before to acquire a forward now. They have good D and stable goalkeeping. Older core. Jim Nill perky and ready to roll the dice. CK21? My best "voice" did not know for sure. I would think possibly so. Boston also still a possibility for CK. Denver. JF17 to Philly very likely. CBJ the dark horse. Maybe another minor deal. No news on the King. Very tight lipped. Repeating myself at the end there.
The West is wide open this year.

This year is as good as any for Nill to push his chips into the middle of the table and go for it this year. STL could very well go back to back with Western Conference titles. Vegas doesn't impress me this year. Edmonton's style of play under Tippett on paper should do well in the playoffs, but I'm not sold on their defense or forward depth. You have Winnipeg lingering but they've been chokers as of late. Dallas has a good chance this year.

I can’t see whatever deal is being talked about but a 1st, Jost and something else small from Colorado is realistic

It’s on par for what Hayes brought back last year
Hayes was not playing the kind of hockey that Kreider is. Such a blah player at times. Kreider is showing he could have much more of an impact in more ways than one

Hayes deal was in a buyer's market tho. Sellers have been making a killing so far at this deadline.

I think teams are seeing the Cup as much more open without a 62-win team in the mix.

Dallas is a good team.

Listen to BBKers on this one guys. I don't wanna up and out his source, but it's a realllly good one.

Relax, fellas. Lots of bad info, and in the rare instance something is legit, it could be a first offer to counter the reported Gorton ask. Be rational, just like we shouldn't expect Byram we shouldn't buy into ECHLers headlining a deal. Do you think St. Louis or Dallas won't step up to the plate if that's the offer? Gorton doesn't pull the trigger 20 hours early on that offer. He'll take this to past noon even if Eichel is the offer.
