Not disagreeing with Dallas, but a #1 has to come back no matter what. This isn't Zuccarello. This is the most impactful deadline player in the last two years, more than Hayes.

Hayes got a 1 and Lemieux. The player needs to be higher end that Lemieux too.

This isn't a limited market and if everyone is reporting 1st and prospect or 1st and young roster player, there is no way that gets it done
Yep. Buying Kreider, with the league parity as it is now, means a dramatic boost to any teams chances of getting to the Finals.
In other words, the proposition should be: what will you pay to get into the cup finals?
I certainly didn’t feel this way about any of the other pieces the rangers have sold off over the past few years.

My buddy just texted me this: Per Mile High Hockey deal is all about but done Colorado avalanche trade Tyson Yost Brandon Saigeon & 2021 1st round draft pick for NYR Chris Kreider

Is Mile high hockey on twitter?
If thats the deal...what a punch in the dick. f***ing Jost for everything Kreider has done this season. I dont care about the late 1st. Only way that becomes palatable is if Colorado somehow misses the playoffs.

Also with 5 teams interested...how is that the best offer with 19 hours to go

Never heard of them.

That'd be an underwhelming return, honestly.

I'll give them their due if they're right but I doubt everyone is getting scooped by mile high hockey.

I don't see anything like that on their twitter.

This is a joke right?

Dallas seems much liklier than before to acquire a forward now. They have good D and stable goalkeeping. Older core. Jim Nill perky and ready to roll the dice. CK21? My best "voice" did not know for sure. I would think possibly so. Boston also still a possibility for CK. Denver. JF17 to Philly very likely. CBJ the dark horse. Maybe another minor deal. No news on the King. Very tight lipped. Repeating myself at the end there.

The Panarin signing set this in motion. It seems like Kreider's play, the emergence of Igor, and the overall play gave them enough pause to try for a team friendly contract.

I wasn't for Panarin. Zero complaints obviously about his first year, I still have concerns long term but he's our guy and that's in the past. But this is the reality, why I was against it back then and why I was on board since then with moving Kreider.

You need balance through your lineup. You need strength in the middle if you load up at any one position. Two left wings at roughly $20m is not wise. Wings develop faster, are available more often, and cheaper to trade for. Defense is expensive and a long time cooking. Centers are rarely available. This is the correct gamble. The committee of wings picks up the slack and hope the young guys take a step. Use the cap space to fix the glaring issue at LD. Keep your eyes peeled for a timely wing trade and ramp up your efforts in 16 months when the cap relief is here.

Do the Rangers still owe on Girardi’s buyout? Can that cap hit be traded? It’s not much but could make a difference for the Rangers.
