I'd say if Kreider is a little better than Hayes, Jost is a little better than Lemieux. Those two are both good acquisitions in trades like this because they're basically locks to have long NHL careers and we still don't look great at developing bottom six (maybe the new Hartford crew will help)

Kreider is more than a little better than Hayes.

I'd never deal Hintz for a rental in Kreider, and I'm being objective. Guy is going to be good.

The 1st was a 2021 according to Richard Banger. I don't see Gorton accepting that. There will absolutely be a 2020 1st on the table. And the prospect that was added isn't worth anything. Colorado drafted him in the 5th round and then ended up signing him to an AHL deal. He has played 45 games in the ECHL and has 17 points.

That entire "offer" looked like something a Colorado fan put together.

They are as likely to trade Hintz as we are to trade someone like Fox or Chytil. Zero point zero percent. I doubt they would trade Faksa either.

Both are good players. Hintz can replace the speed and Faska has some grit to his game. Good option for faceoffs. I'd love that deal.

Hayes was the #3 rental forward on the market last year (Duchene and Stone being 1 and 2.)

Aside from the fact that year to year comparisons can't really be made (demand always drives the market) Kreider should return more than Hayes.

Rangers made their best offer in the 6s. Since Kreider won't budge from the 7s, it's "Plan B" time. Also Rangers might be willing to listen to offers on Skjei and Staal wink wink nudge nudge.
