I was hoping to kill 2.5 hours on a train by reading juicy rumors or even about completed trades. On the way, someone jumped under a train in front of us on the same track so 2.5 hours turned into almost 5 and still nothing! I am boooored.
I know we all want deals but it looks like the whole league is quiet right now. Not just the Rangers. In fact there’s a possibility everyone else is waiting on a resolution to the “Kreider Kronicles”. That may be the next big domino to fall. Either way.

I could see JG trading Kreider. I could even see JG shoving Henrik out of the picture.

I cannot imagine him trading Trouba. That’s a different level of cutthroat.

I do agree. The reasons why he wanted NYC being very personal and public, then inking a 7 year deal. That would leave a pretty bad taste in my mouth I have to say.

Well if that is so cutthroat then why was NMC not included on the 1st year? In case they feel they made a mistake, they trade him. I think they overpaid him after a career season he had. It was cutthroat of him to demant such big contract if this is where he wanted to be, he sort of screwed himself up. If he wanted to ensure he is in NY for a long time he should have taken less money.

They couldn't put a NMC on the first year, as it was a RFA year.

The first year couldn't include an NMC since it was not a UFA year. Also...in a world where Norris dmen get an AAV of $11.5M I would say $8M for Trouba is not much if any of an overpayment.

Dumb argument. Sharks are really regretting that Norris Dman, and by the time they buy him out it will be worthy of Chuck Norris.

Yep. I think Trouba takes on a ton of responsibility. It may not look great on him, all the time. But it’s key for the rest of the roster and the Rangers game in general.

The team is 10th in goal differential, Trouba is doing just fine, considering how brutal the division is that's more than fine really. And there was always going to be an adjustment period spending his entire career in the West where the hockey is more structured, especially a Jets team that lives and dies by that type of hockey. This is pond hockey over here compared to that.

Ask PK how the transition to the Metro from the Central has treated him.

Expecting a big season in year 2 for Trouba as the team gets better around him.

Same thing then
I don't think so, he's been doing great against elite competition as well.

Yeah, and I have to say, even if it wasn’t all that, I think trading him would be a really bad idea.

Anyone seriously think the outcome would be any different if we had Colton Pareyko or Manson from Anaheim or whomever like that log those minutes?

It’s a unit thing and the D logging those minutes is hanged out. Even if people have started to understand that Corsi is a very incomplete, people are still glancing at it.

Top Corsi teams, how many are even in the POs?

4 of the top 6 risk missing them.

Then you have all the factors that clouds the picture of Corsi when it’s used to look at an individual player on top of that.
