Why do we have to argue over fox and DeAngelo?

both are awesome and both should be here long term.

Because Fox seems much more steady in his own zone the concern with Tony D is that he just the benefactor of our entire offense being inflated by Panarin

Kreider to COL for Kaut, 1st, conditional on re-signing

Hank to CAR for whatever - just give the guy a chance to play

Trouba to TOR for Nylander

Get it done Gorton!

I’m very much believing that there will be a hefty conditional pick attached to Kreider if he resigns with that team OR if he is traded prior to July 1st so that Gorton can take another run at him at that point. Something like a conditional 1st that turns into like a 6th if he doesn’t sign before July 1st

I prefer conditional picks based on playoff performance. They made the playoffs exciting last year lol.

McMichael would be another “top” prospect.

Roberston from Dallas is probably one of the better ones the Rangers can poach.

A lot depends on the trade partner and what they can afford to move out their own system for a rental.

With all of this talk I feel like we will get a first and a conditional but be disappointed with the prospect(s) coming back.

I think we need to lower our expectations. Either way fans won’t be happy with the return.

If Gorton finds a way to deal CK and the votes are in the majority for liking the deal we should be ecstatic

Trading Trouba.... man that solves a lot of problems too... I like him.. but after games like last night, the $8M tag stings

that does not solve a lot of problems. it potentially solves one problem by clearing cap space while creating several more

It will never happen. After all the big deal that was made about him wanting to play in the US because of his wife, he's not getting sent back to Canada although Toronto >> Winnipeg. Also, trading a player you just traded for and gave a 8 year deal to, bad look.

Avs fans love Jost and would be disappointed to see him go but there is too much depth in front of him to get a real chance.
You sure about that? Don't take my word for it. Head over to the Avs boards and ask around or read that latest thread on Ranger scouts being at last night's game. He's a bust. History of upper body injuries that may or may not be related to concussions since being drafted. And has never produced when given time with top players. He should be viewed as a rehab project while you cross your fingers hoping he finds his game AND stays healthy.
If its Kreider and Kreider alone going to Colorado then Gorton should be targeting prospects like Bowers, Kaut and Beaucage along with their 2020 1st and some conditional picks since Newhook and Byram aren't on the table. Jost and Kamanev should be considered throw ins. They would serve no purpose other than filler for Hartford... when they're healthy.
I don't follow them or Detroit as much as I do the Rangers but I know that Jost should not be the player that Gorton should target when trading Kreider.
Sidenote: Bowers used to play under Quinn

I was hoping to kill 2.5 hours on a train by reading juicy rumors or even about completed trades. On the way, someone jumped under a train in front of us on the same track so 2.5 hours turned into almost 5 and still nothing! I am boooored.

That's a silly concern.

I agree, just pointing out possible reasons why one might prefer Fox. Both are fantastic and we are lucky to have them, it is so exciting to think about their potential.

Seriously name 4 bigger fleeces than Stepan and Raanta for DeAngelo and 7th overall, Brassard for Zibanejad (and a 2nd), Spooner for Strome and 2 2nds for Fox. Wow.

I don't really see why it's a bad look. At the time we had major questions at RD and didn't know what we had in DeAngelo and Fox. Now that we've seen what they can do RD is no longer a need and the two of them look like long term pieces that should be locked up. It only makes sense to explore trading the player who is the oldest and makes the most money now. We can find a much cheaper RD who plays a defensive role to handle the same tough matchups Trouba takes who might not have his offensive abilities - someone like a Brendan Dillon (I know he's a lefty - just giving an example based on someone who was just traded that plays like that). Given it's pretty much literally now or never with a NMC kicking in after the year I think you have to look into it.

And Trouba with his long term deal would appeal to many teams who have difficulty signing players to those types of deals, even guys who have one year left are getting a premium.

Have you watched him play ? Besides obvious skating / athleticism nowhere near ready . Does not look very instinctual or comfortable dojng anything but pushing the puck up ice by skating . Someone mentioned he defends the rush well . I’ve watched some Wisconsin And the tournaments and all I saw was a project at this point. Another year at UW and then finish season in AHL on PTO is the likely timeline

Team as a whole is not playing well under Granato. Everyone is under performing. Many of the fans and local papers aren't happy as well.
Wouldn't surprise me if Miller leaves after the season and is in Hartford. Hoping Barron takes that route too. Gotta get these guys into the mix and see what they have.

McMichael is not a "top" prospect. He is without a doubt a top prospect. And Robertson from Dallas would be a good get, though I believe Nick Robertson from the Petes who is a TO prospect is actually the one held in higher regard.
