Fun times. That game was one of the most fun games I've watched.

They all scored and it was the beginning of brass' mastery of the Penguins with the Rangers.

Yeah, I speculated about that when the news first broke about Wilson wanting a 1st rounder. Labanc has been speculated as a target for Georgiev, but I'd love to find a way to get a guy like Meier or Hertl. Probably a pipe dream, and either would be expensive, but with Hertl's injury, maybe he's a possibility.

I want nothing to do with Hertl. He's coming off the second major knee injury of his career.

I know Gorton is an ice cold MFer, but trading a guy while his Mom is traveling with the team would be a different level of “it’s just business.”

Montreal's left side is brutal and I can't help but think that something can happen by the deadline or at the draft... regardless of the draft taking place in Montreal.

Last I heard they were possibly interested in Graves. Now wouldn't that be funny if they had more interest in Graves over Skjei...lol

All make sense but one thing that Gorton needs to consider is that having too many moving parts could be detrimental too. I'm sure he realizes that and therefore prioritizes some actions over others as "musts" or not and also spreads them out over immediate, short term and long term.

Absolutely.

And that's why I think some of these guys are connected and cancel out moves involving one another.

You get to a point where, in theory, you could move Kreider, Strome, Buch, Skjei, Fast and a goalie out. But that's a hell of a lot of turnover (to say nothing about a hell of a lot of points being moved).

while everyone is focusing on just kreider, i think georgieve is in play as well.

hank isnt going anywhere imo. not sure teams see him as a true #1 anymore and certainly question his ability to play an entire playoff run to the cup at 38 yrs of age. george is a guy that teams will view as a potential starter soon. i think

as for newhook time line, he wont finish school thats for sure. hell come early. i see him as a legit 2c dynamic and dangerous in 2 years. needs some more time to fill out. kids skating right now is sublime. great stride and has an extra gear. in his draft year, he was one of the 2 best skaters in the entire draft.

prefer to keep buchnevich who i believe is finding his way under quinn. hes got another level i believe. hes taken a little longer but i think hes got 30 goal upside. i really do.

I'd agree with your take on Lundqvist not moving a lot more if he wasn't completely pushed to sidelines in the 3-goalie situation.

Would be totally fine with this trade as well.

I'd rather Jost than Kamanev but Ranta is a good prospect who I really liked last summer for the draft. Playing at Minnesota and has put up respectable numbers for a freshman
