Staal Skjei Hank Fast McKegg won’t be on this team next year. I’m convinced. May not happen before the deadline but they won’t be on this team next year.

my gut tells me we will go with young Dmen on the left side with Smith serving as the 13th forward 7th Dman to insulate. Allows us to carry 22 and save cap space.

I will not be surprised if tony gets games on the left at times. I will not be surprised if KAndre Miller is here on day 1. And I expect at least one of Rykov/Hajek to be a full timer.

There is absolutely no "guarantee" whatsoever of 60 points from Ryan Strome lolol

As in he's not getting another 9-points in the remaining games??? You understand the "guarantee" implied that he's staying next to Panarin???

P.S. You are still concerned over his shooting %, aren't you???

Depending on the moves I wouldn't be against it but that seems like a big risk for a team we are expecting to make a legit push next year

This year? Sure. The original post concerned giving Strome a longer $5mil/year deal. No- I don't think he's guaranteed to hit 60 in any other year, Panarin or not.

Hate to break it to but that's most likely the more accurate trade. And that's exactly why I want to keep him. He's far more valuable to the Rangers than the assets they could aquire.

Its not. Its basically the Toffoli trade with an upgrade on the 2nd round pick, downgrade on the prospect.

And its not Kreider Vs. return. It's Kreider @ his new contract vs the return and the open cap space.

Once again i'm compelled to mention that this is not what this is about

Can they sign him at a price they're comfortable with ----> YES ---> SIGNED
Can they sign him at a price they're comfortable with ----> NO ----> TRADED

Kamanev is awful.

He's also a throw-in. Remove him from the trade and my opinion is the same.

That's a bigger return than the Rick Nash trade and the Kevin Hayes trade. Lindgren and Lemieux were worth about a 2nd rounder. Ranta is a bonus, worth about a 2nd rounder himself.

You guys are getting greedy. That's a great deal. You're setting yourselves up for disappointment.

That deal is approaching the deals that Hossa and Kovalchuk got as rentals.

it’s no different than Zucs last year. We can’t lose our heart. Now we can’t lose Kreider. Ugh, how did we lose McD?

All but a few know where this going but the Rangers will be fine.

If Kreider ends up moving its going to be for something like 1st, Kaut, Jost and a conditional pick.

It's not the home run swing that I'm hoping for, but it fits the bill for what McKenzie laid out the other day (either a 1st and a top prospect or a first, prospect, third piece and additional pick.)

I can live with:

1. Skjei for Caufield

2. Buch and Geo for Newhook

3. Kreider to Carolina for CAR's and TOR's 1st round picks

4. Strome, Howden and our 1st for Johnny Hockey

We sneak into the POs, sign Newhook and Caufield after the NCAA season, and win the Cup with the youngest team ever (see below), thoughts?

Johnny Hockey-Ziba-Caufield
Panarin-Newhook-Gauthier
Kravy-Chytil-Kakko
Lemmy-Boo-Fast
Lindgren-Trouba
Staal-TDA
Hajak/Rykov-Fox
Igor/Geo/Hank

Not sure how Howden, Strome and a 1st gets you Johnny Hockey without heavy drug usage in Calgary.

Rentals that were moved more than 10 years ago.

The only thing that has value of any significance is the 1st. A 1st, 2nd,meh prospect and a throw in is barely an upgrade on what Toffoli got (considering that the prospect who was moved here was better.)

Today is the day you tell Kreider take it or leave it, whatever Gortons final offer is. If he says no then you end negotiations, scratch him tonight and tomorrow , and have him gone before Monday.

Normally I would be all over that, but since they caught up in this race I think the team's playoff chances are more important as well as continuing the image that he is 50/50 or close to resigning. Keeps a little bit more leverage when trying to make a deal because other teams have to pry a little harder.

It is a risk playing him though, because I ultimately think he will be moved.

Probably. I think many have their expectations set too high. My first preference is to resign him but it’s better than getting nothing for him I guess

What extraordinary circumstances are making this year an outlier for Strome?
