That package is kind of what Bob McKenzie described. A first and a top prospect, or failing that, a lesser prospect and another piece. It's just missing the conditional 4th.

yes, I could also "live with" those absolute fantasy trades that vastly favor the Rangers lol
This is no longer a speculation thread. Like you said it is Fantasy and borders on insanity. Scary thing some people really propose these things thinking they could happen.

he might be a bust. Respectfully though, Edmonton appears lost in the Pacific Northwest and maybe teams are tired of trying to deal with that mess. Besides collecting all-world talent and missing the playoff with regularity what are they good for? History?

The Oilers should be on the phone to buy/sell and actually make progress IMO. “Nobody really asked”? Really?

Kamenev isn't trash, but he's more likely a 4th line player than anything else and he's had some struggles staying healthy.

Ranta is a very raw talent who could end up as a Benoit Pouliot type. I think people are crapping on it because they're still convinced there's a "wow" piece coming back for Kreider, and that's just not going to happen.

In the same post.:ha:
Did you miss the part where I said 'COLORADO' and how THEY develop. You see what you want to see

Anyway, I dont think Buch is a bust. I'd just rather have Kreider over him. We also have a strong candidate in Kravtsov to replace Buch.

Dont forget, MacKinnon was a 'bust' until his 5th year in the league.. As in living up to his hype 'next-crosby'... Maybe it has something to do with Colorado.
.

which is why I hope J.D. sticks to the game plan of being patient. The peak of this rebuild could take years and hopefully it doesn’t get derailed by lack of patience.

Not that I think it would actually happen, but no team is trading for Hank before the deadline with how this situation has gone. He hasn't played in 3 weeks, you just can't get into a rhythm that way

Look as much as I love Hank the Rangers gave him the option to go to a contender and he didn’t take it. I love our two young goalies. Obviously Igor is the GUY but I like Georgiev too and not interested in rushing to trade him

Maybe Jost is worth taking a flyer on.. but I'd still rather move Buch instead of Kreider.

This is why that idea around Skjei-Drouin has been in my brain for the last week or so...

I would rather a roster player with a bit more upside/less of an injury history, or a prospect who is closer to being NHL ready. If that means we get 3 pieces instead of 4, or 2 pieces instead of 3, that's fine.
