Honestly I think that is for the best. I could understand if we were a bottom feeder...we aren’t. Also from what I’m hearing the packages we would be getting seem subpar.

We don’t know which of Kreider Strome Buch and Fast are traded. We don’t know what returns were getting for any that are. Those might require protection also. On top of that, yes- Chytil, Lemieux, Gauthier, Howden. Those are all players I don’t want to lose for nothing.

. You are only saying he would be an idiot because you want to trade him which is your right I guess. But honestly who the hell is left that would give us a great return? Bruins have the 30-31 overall pick and a shitty farm system. Colorado also has a high pick and has no intention of trading their top prospects. The Isles? Maybe but I don’t see Gorton doing that. virtually meaningless on a contract like that. if he is bad enough that you want to move him then the contract makes him unmovable.

If they can sign him for 5 years instead of 7 and none of the other teams are really budging on their offers then it should be ok. EDIT: and NO NMC/NTC
