Well we traded Holden to Boston and then traded Nash there a few days later, so nothing is ever set in stone. The deal could be dead or they could be waiting to circle back to see if other options don't pan out.

Carolina wants a LD and the market has shrunk since we made the trade with them. Could certainly pick up talks again.

Saw Wahlstrome play the other night. Not impressed. Scored on the PP but nothing the rest of the game. In the third period he was put on his a$$ and showed no will to go back against the player.

Yes it was one game but first thing I thought of watching him was I was glad the Rangers passed.

There’s not much on their AHL team that we would like.

These are the kind of circumstances now that I'd hope Gorton and CO. will give up more to get the player they really want and envision on the roster. They've acquire plenty of decent assets to continue to move some now. I mean, if it were Nylander they target and Toronto needed defense. You could package Skjei + Fast. That'll help sure things up. Salaries are basically a wash. Either way, whether it's Nylander or a top prospect ready to make the jump, I want the Rangers to really go after a top caliber talent .

Imo if they’re trading Skjei it’s to free up cap space and they’d want ELC guys or prospects not big money back.

keep in mind even if you trade Kreider and Fast you still have Panarin Buchnevich Kakko Kravtsov Gauthier that are going take up 5 of 6 top 9 wing spots next year. We have Lemieux too. So we aren’t bringing in 2 or 3 more nhl bodies

Has John Moore regressed? He's been a pretty competent 3rd pairing guy most of his career.

If we were to move Skjei, he seems like a reasonable replacement for the third pairing, though his cap hit isn't ideal for that role.

Wahlstrom was definitely the consensus pick there. I was ecstatic that Wahlstrom fell but also fine with them taking Kravtsov over him. Kind of a funny thing to "lol" about right now though - VK has a long way to go before we can praise Gorton for his foresight there.
