Jeeze, has anyone been following Wahlstrom at all? Dude has been god awful since being drafted and looks like a massive BUST. I don't want him anywhere near this team in a trade for Kreider. If we were to trade him there it better be for Bellows or Dobson.

Edge hasn't said anything that make it looks like he is re-signing with us. Everything he said has been the total opposite. Deal on the table but over 10M apart. Not sure what you read.

Now, I think the Rangers can close that gap somewhat, but Kreider would need to come down on both. If the Rangers go to 7 years, the average salary has to come down --- considerably.

All he’s said is essentially Kreider is going to have to settle for less to stay. Which is what everyone has been saying

Has John Moore regressed? He's been a pretty competent 3rd pairing guy most of his career.

If we were to move Skjei, he seems like a reasonable replacement for the third pairing, though his cap hit isn't ideal for that role.

I’d rather give Hajek or Rykov third pair minutes for a third of the cap hit.

Kaut and Wahlstrom are from the same draft class. Kaut is having a better season in the AHL than Wahlstrom. Not significantly better, but better.

So what exactly makes you think Wahlstrom is a good return, but Kaut is a lame one?

He’s just FullTilt NYR rebranded. The guy was, and still is, a total ****ing clown who doesn’t deserve an ounce of credibility. Same goes for every dumb hack that’s associated with that website.


On a lighter note, it’s interesting that we’re carrying 13F at the moment. Tony is healthy again, and Smith is a dual-purpose D/F. I’m kinda surprised they’re carrying 23 players total.

Heading on the road it makes a ton of sense to have the replacements with you for when the eventual deals go down.

In all honesty, how much would the Islanders have to overpay for Kreider? I'd settle for nothing less than 1sts in 2020 and 2022, and I'm sure that would be rejected really quick by Lou. No interest in Wahlful personally.
