I agree with Larry, but for a different reason.

If I’m Georgiev and I make it to the end of the season, I sit back and wait for an RFA offer sheet. Someone will pony up in a second to sign him for $4MM in a heartbeat.
4mm seems like a reach for the amount of games he’s played

Think about it from this perspective...If you are Ottawa and you need a goaltender, have no big time prospects coming along, five picks in the first two rounds of the draft and you like the player, why wouldn’t you offer sheet him?

Even The Hockey Guy himself said Trouba isn't playing well for the Rangers
I'd be willing to bet The Hockey Guy has watched less than 3 full Rangers games this season.

That dude is an uninformed moron who bases his entire opinion on what's happened in the past, his uninformed preconceived thoughts on players, watching highlights and reading boxcar stats.

Ottawa won't for the most obvious reason, they are about to have a bunch of young players and are one of the most susceptible teams to an offer sheet in the league because of all their financial issues

Lets do a Chapman Yankees move....trade Kreider ...then resign him...the 2 or 3 pieces we get add value to his 7x7 contract.

They have just 3 contracts that go past next season (White/Chabot/Zaitsev). They have plenty of cap space to resign their top players and all of the dead cap LTIR contracts will be off the books too. I dont think that would be a concern of theirs.

Who picks the All-Star replacements, the NHL, or does the team nominate someone? I'm working on a conspiracy theory...

Buch was benched on December 5. Before that he had 19 pts in 26 games. I thought that benching was really harsh, and I immediately wondered if it would pay off to single out Buch like DQ did and feared that it would back-fire.

After the benching, he has 7 pts in 22 games. He is playing without confidence. Scared of over-passing and not sure what to do instead. It is what it is. I am not saying that we have prof of anything or that the outcome surely had been different, but I don't like DQs attack on Buch at the time. And he really demonstratively took out Buch from the rotation to put Smith in his place, that is not 'someone else is performing better and you are having a bad night', its 'your play is really unacceptable'.
I’m a big fan of the Gerald Gallant school of coaching. He doesn’t believe in benching the player when they make mistakes because he believes they will play too tense and apprehensive with having to worry every time their on the ice that they will be benched if they make the wrong decision.

Is this just a pipe dream or is there some basis for the Ducks trading Lindholm?
I mean, they are clearly rebuilding and the Rangers have a ton of assets. Lindholm only has 2.5 years left on his deal. Basically they can get a big return if they move him as opposed to holding him, and praying that he re-signs even though he isn’t on the teams rebuild schedule

How does this come up anymore? Miller was not traded by himself. It was part of a package. Without him, the trade does not get done. You cannot pick segments of trades apart and treat them as stand alone.
Normally that is true but not in this case.
If you can find the interview after the trade deadline closed.
Steve Yzerman claimed that the deal was set for McDonagh and Gorton then added J.T. for Namestnikov as an add on to which Yzerman agreed.

We don’t have to make a decision on any of our stud righty Dmen until Fox proves he’s ready for a big money contract in a couple years. Zero reason to entertain moving any of them.

I, and most residents here, agree but to distill @EdJovanovski and @Avery16 argument from the last couple of pages: it is their believe that Fox can shortly and successfully take over Trouba’s role and Lundkvist will become NHL regular. Therefore Trouba should be moved before no movement clause kicks in.

Being 6’0” how likely is that Fox could provide the physical element in front of the net and on boards necessary regardless of how well Fox could play defense in the open ice?

I can confirm this pretty much is my take. I do think Fox will surpass Trouba’s ability within three seasons, maybe sooner. I’m not handing Lundqvist minutes, but I do believe we have third pair options right now. I believe Keane could handle those minutes, and I think those minutes are traditionally more appropriate for someone of Keane’s skill level than of Fox’s. We have an embarrassment of riches in two positions only. The rest of the positions are just an embarrassment.

There’s so much still wrong w this team... missing wildly on Andersson certainly didn’t help.

Having an abundance of goalies isn’t the worst thing. It’s like 29th on the list

Jova complains about plays Trouba isn’t even remotely responsible for.

That’s because he fails to identify players coverage assignments due to inexperience with the game, or his straight up hatred has completely corrupted his ability to evaluate a player, or play from a neutral POV.

Even worse, he naturally deflects when someone asks about a good or great play Trouba made.

I’ve given up on him. It’s like, trying to convince Bern his theory of playing Zbad at RW with Boo as his Center isn’t going to cause some sort of unstoppable synergy.

Fox is gona be a 6’4” 220 lb defenseman that plays physical, nasty, and clears the front of the net?

LMFAO...

Grass is always greener situation we got going on here
