Broberg in the top 10 doesn't surprise me in the least.

Soderstrom is a dark horse too.

Seider, potentially just outside the top 10.

So you very well could be looking at a scenario where Byram, Broberg, Soderstrom and Seider are all in that 3-12 range.

Also there where 2 other better RD's on their way to the market for jut a couple of days ago. The situation might be totally different in august. Teams that missed out on Trouba or EK, teams where prospects show they arent as ready for the NHL as the club thought, there will be injuries. Every day takes us closer to the end of the contract for Staal, Smith and Shattenkirk, and will make their contracts less a problem for another team to take on.

Possible.

I think we're probably more optimistic because it's an outcome we want, but we'll play it by ear.

Can’t Gorton deliver on this??

Kreider and Shatty for 10th and Loui Eriksson at 50%

Loui Eriksson (@50%) to EDM for Lucic and the 8th

Draft Newhook and Zegras. :)

So everyone here has been talking Kreider to Edmonton

Odds he has Edmonton on his No-Trade list given their previous interest?

The 2OA pick last year helped a team get to the ECF this year. Do we need Kakko in his prime? He would be great as a rookie as well. All that being said, I think we are still at least one more bad/average year away from sniffing the playoffs.

They do not have to be

Panarin with Kreider on LW, with Zbad, they can probably trade some other prospects for a 2nd line center, they can buyout some D to make some cap space, replace them with players who are likely close, Rykov, Fox, Hajek. They still have the Dallas and Tampa picks they could trade for NHLers.

My question, why would they make moves like Trouba without trying to maximize their chances at using him in his prime? By age 31 he could be declined, 6 years why waste any of them?

Zbad is only signed for 3 more seasons.

Those of us, myself included who wanted to see patience are in my opinion on the wrong side of how they should now go about this. Those who have vested interest in seeing their ticket resale value rise should win out.

Still not likely to lead to a Cup or as long of a window as they could have had, yet the Rangers had #2, #20, had an early 2nd and they traded all that away other than the #2, they are obviously not interested in waiting on anyone they could have drafted beyond their #2 pick, who they probably think will step in and be in his prime within a year or two.

Vesey for Puljujarvi works for both sides I think, I'd support it

Though I have to be honest nothing about Puljujarvi's history makes me think he's got explosive untapped potential. He's really just not good at anything. Not bad either though, I guess.

with the Perry buyout which is hideous on the cap by the way I am worried the Rangers may do the same to Shattenkirk.........they clearly want to see who they get. Trouba adds like 7-8 million and they may do 11 million on Panarin

so moving a Kreider, Namestnikov almost has to happen. Vesey doesnt make that much.

I am going to be surprised if Smith can't move out for 2 million/50%

Ya we can definitely ask him to consider waiving to a team on his NTC. I think we did that with Gaborik when we traded him to Columbus.

We did it with Kotalik. I think he had a 3 team NTC and Calgary was on his list. We ended up trading him there anyway in the 1st year of a 3 year deal.

The way it works is Gorton and Holland discuss Kreider. If Kreider's list is already known, Gorton would tell Holland if Edmonton is on the list. Holland may keep pursuing it in the hopes that Kreider will change his mind and at some point, Gorton will go back to Kreider and ask him about it. If Kreider still says no, that's probably the end of it. Gorton could give Holland permission to speak to Kreider and see if they can come to an agreement there.

Nylander makes a lot of sense now. A young, playmaking 2C.

Point would cost waayy too much, I would think.

Unless you can get Tampa to take way less than four firsts for him.

I would think maybe two firsts, including next year's, if it's top 5 protected, I might be willing to do. You can do that in the NHL, right?
