I very much doubt the Rangers would have any interest in Ryan Merkley from the Sharks.
That's the problem with a trade there, it makes sense from a Henrik perspective, and I understand that his value is not that high for a number of reasons, but I don't want to trade him just to trade him. It's gotta make sense for the Rangers.
I dunno. I'm obviously low on Lundqvist at this point in his career, but if you can get a team to bite on him and his contract at this point, I'd personally let him go for a song. We've all been talking about trading Kreider to free up room to make a run at Panarin? What about trading Lundqvist to do so?
I am personally of the belief that goaltending is as close to a fungible asset as there is in the NHL. I'd be all for playing two high potential, cheap young goalies and allocating cap elsewhere in the lineup.
