Tkachuk would be amazing replacement for Kreider. I'd give up a lot for Tkachuk... what will he want though, salary wise? Panarin and Tkachuk on LW for the next 7 years

I feel like we need a 2C more than anything... Point makes the most sense, maybe we could win a trade with Yzerman gone. Karlsson, possibly? Vegas is in a really bad spot but I'm not paying as if he's a 40 goal scorer

Gonna guess that “Kreider for a high pick and prospect they like” is the oft rumored Pulju + 8th deal which is 50/50

But Kreider is also potentially involved in a bigger deal which most people don’t have on their radar, where we give up Kreider + some of our young talent for Nylander or Marner. Maybe that’s the 70/30 one

Anyway - that’s my best guess based on the info out there. Thanks @Edge for the insights and for making a Wednesday night more interesting, it’s much appreciated.

Yeah I'm thinking its probably Kreider Buch and something small for Tkachuk.

That's way too forgiving on our end. If it's those two (seems likely if Vesey is the other option and they won't deal him if they lose two top 6 fowards because you need bodies) then the "something small" is gonna be like our 2020 1st or one of the kids, and probably not Lias Andersson.

If I'm giving up krieder and a bunch of young assets I want marner, rantanen, or tkachuk. Nylander in my opinion isnt worth it right now. Plus he played like crap this year, I want a deal on that one like with trouba lol

Because I've seen very little from him to feel confident that he'd actually develop into a 2C? I feel Kravtsov or Kakko would have a better chance

I love chytl but I dont see him as a center. He has played better as a winger but who knows what the future holds

I’m not vetted, and I’m not sure exactly what deals get done, but I can tell you what is going to happen. I’m going on vacation tomorrow and will only be able check my phone at stops along the way. Therefore, a trade or two is going to get done, and I won’t be able to discuss it until my wife and I get to the motel. Either, that, or all hell will break loose in a few minutes after I go to bed.

There have been rumblings the Flames aren't pleased with the compete or some crap like that of their top end guys but I always thought that was more a shot at Monahan. We'll know in 48 hours.

The bigger option has two teams with two different deals, but a shared component. That's why there's a sensitivity. Also possible to strike a substantially smaller deals with either or both clubs.

The other deal is separate, doesn't involve the same components, but likely goes off the table if they can make the bigger deal come to fruition.

The bigger option, was that your 50/50 or your 70/30

the rumor is over how much $$ he will demand this summer as a RFA...flames have about $13.5 mil in cap space and he could get $8.5+ which makes it tight since they don't have either goalie signed and need to sign sam bennett. but I don't buy it. they will find a way to make the cap numbers work and keep him even if they have to move a lesser player...

I think the only way he gets moved is if he simply wants out of calgary for whatever reason
