I dont think we have what it takes to trade for Marner. He's a phenomenal player but giving up that many assets for a RW? BUT for all intents and purposes, I'd offer Kreider and Shat @50, Buch and Chytil... Maybe Lindgren sprinkled on top..

I'm guessing vesey is the smaller deal.

Krieder is the component in the 2 larger deals.

Unless we get like an instant impact player I don't like the idea of trading away picks to accelerate the rebuild or signing someone like Panarin unless it comes reasonable.

Not even for the sake of adding more picks or high end prospects per say but in the sense that the core of our team is still a bunch of young unproven players that NEED to develop. And while surrounding them with veteran players is good it doesn't necessarily accelerate their development and then people start to get nervous and anxious and impatient and the media too and then it affects the younger players. Especially in NY where its all style over substance. All instant gratification.

I don't know how long its gonna take but we should be rebuilding. It doesn't happen overnight. Kakko or no Kakko. Trouba or no Trouba. Even if we got McDavid tomorrow morning this team would need a good year or two to mesh and let guys like Kravtsov, Shesto, Hajek, etc etc acclimate and come into their own. And guys down the line like Lundqvist and K'Andre. Right now I am looking at can Zibanejah sustain his success as a true first line center... can Kakko win a calder... can Kravtsov make the team off the bat. Etc etc and people are talking everywhere about the Rangers retooling. No they are not. They are not retooling. They are rebuilding.

There are still many pieces that need to cook. And I want to build a perennial contender for many years to come and win a Stanley cup or two or three. I really want to get this right. And we are in great position. But I don't like what I'm hearing. Too many people are leaving the realm of reality with this team and getting carried away.

Vesey + Kreider to Buffalo for their pick was discussed
And a deal to get Panarin's rights was discussed

The other @Edge tidbit I reposted, which was from either yesterday or Monday is that the Rangers have been talking to Arizona, Buffalo, Colorado, Dallas, Edmonton and Vegas. Some of these teams are obvious as to assets we’ve discussed. But, in a follow-up conversation, @Edge did confirm that the Rangers have talked with Dallas about this year’s 1st, and rescinding the conditions on next year’s 1st.

Yeah, that's the part I'm not really understanding either, unless all the parties just decided to allow it to happen, but quietly. Or this is a very recent thing and none of the media guys are picking up on it because they're all at the NHL awards tonight (which both feel pretty unlikely to me too)
