Eh I'd scrub through their history for the last few months. There is a ton of repackaged info just to drive clicks, but they've called a bunch of things.

I'm the first person to call bullshit on things like this when they are, not so much in this case.

I could very feasibly see any contending team acquiring Eichel LTIRing him for the whole regular season to stay cap compliant. He's likely to miss most of it anyways.

If that turns out to be the case then it really makes very little sense for the Rangers at all.

Yeah I mean if we get Eichel I'm more than okay trading Strome for futures for that slight cap relief. Goodrow can play 3C and probably Barron or Rooney will be 4C

If we end trading for Eichel -- which we might. And I'm not happy about that. Trading Strome for a guy like Grieg would be a good move. Grieg is exactly the kind of young player we need to keep adding to the pipeline if we want to keep contending for a bunch of years. Grieg types on their ELCs are worth their weight in gold. These players tend to cost too much as they age for what they bring and how battered they get.

So yeah Rangers can do both.. Strome (if another center comes) and/or Buch (for futures, prospects, young NHL ready player in a hockey trade, etc) and I suspect they will be doing both.

The Rangers have an offensively gifted young center in Chytil. What they actually need is a good defensive 3C and they may already have that if they plan to play Goodrow there.

If Dallas is successful in acquiring Seth Jones and signing him long term, I would ASSUME that takes them out of the Oleksiak running. How much is he projected to get and for how long?
