Pace doesnt mean shit. Come on guys, its not facts. Its a belief that he would put up that amount of point more or less.

Just talking about this pace crap is annoying. Its not what a player actually put up so lets stop with the nonsense please.

Pace is useful when a player doesn't have a full season. You still need an eye test but in this scenario the eye test matched the "pace".
Even ignoring pace if you look at 5v5 points/60, chytil is top 30 in the league.

Makes sense. How can you be an alpha dog if you’ve never led a team to success? Buffalo has surrounded him with a shit roster, and it’s ruined any leadership qualities he might have had, had he been brought along in a winning environment.

Still don’t want him unless it’s a bargain basement deal, but it’s totally understandable that he’s not really “leadership material” at this point.

I'm not sure leaders are only leaders under the right circumstances. I could argue the worse the conditions, the better the opportunity for leaders to lead.

Im cool with everyones thoughts on chytl i think he will only get better but again he has alot of other things he needs to work on like faceoffs and defense.

still cant do the eye test because its all opinionated. the pace needs to be taken out the window it doesnt mean anything. Its not in truths. So when we are talking about giving a guy a contract or whatever "pace" should not be included. Its about what he has done and what you believe he can do in the future.

If i score 10 goals in 10 games and then get hurt, you can say im on pace for an 82 goal season. Its all bull

"Where I believe Jack Eichel will succeed is a place where he doesn't have to be 'the guy'...to carry the entire load of a team."

I actually think this is true even though for 10M you SHOULD be able to and should be required to, but he wouldn't have to do that here with Panarin et al.. He would have to do that in ANA, LAK (at least for a while), in Minn he would have Kaprizov

If a trade for him includes a large package, and he makes 10 mill he sure as hell should be the guy or leave him where he is at.

I did see some of the Suzuki stuff but didn’t realise this was a continuation of that. Suzuki is better, no doubt. But Chytil is 21 and underrated I think by our fans. He absolutely can grow into a quality #2 C if given quality icetime. Quinn def. utilized Strome a lot more, and I hope Gallant changes this. This includes on the PP if he balances out the usage.

I could see a Panarin, Zibby Kreider, Buch or Laf PP1 with Chytil, Strome, KK, VK, Miller/Trouba PP2. If they split the minutes more evenly Chytil can def get some quality PP time.

Also, if Strome and/or Buch are traded, Chytil’s minutes will def go up.
If strome is traded it's bc a better player is coming here.

I mean I agree with alot of them, but Zibanejad is not one of them. What "influx" is coming to replace him?.. It doesn't exist on the Rangers anywhere right now
He's going to get an 8 year deal @ $10mill AAV. The Rangers need to stop giving these contracts to 29 year old players. He will be valuable up until 32 if were lucky.
Look at Kreider - he's not even worth his contract year 1. Parise and Suter just strangled Minnesota (Defencemen deteriorate slower). Price's 10 mill is horrendous. Leafs can't get out of the first round with those 3 guys making north of $10. Panarin is are $10mill player. Can't afford any more.

At his peak, I think his floor will be a great second line player. He needs to work on defensive awareness and puck retrieval (which will improve as he gets stronger). I think he has the potential to be a premier player in this league. Don't know if he is going to stick at center or the wing.

What is a first line center? Ryan Strome? Our current first line center is Ryan Strome. I know he will be better than him.

Your last question is what production do I project? I can see him developing into a point/game player. He will be a 60 point player next year at 21 years old.
I think you're underestimating the quality of point a game players. I haven't seen a single person suggest he will be that kind of player.

Back to where it all started?

One thing that complicates things for Tampa is that all these guys have NTC/NMC. Would McD really waive Tampa for MTL? MTL might not be a PO team next season.

I would bet on Rutta. Weber “replacement”.

Montreal talking trade with Tampa is interesting.

Tampa can either go 8/1 and protect:

Kucherov, Stamkos, Point, Cirelli & Hedman, McDonagh, Cernak, Sergachev
and expose Killorn, Palat, Gourde

Or they can go 7/3/1 and protect:
Kucherov, Stamkos, Point, Cirelli, Killorn, Palat, Gourde & Hedman + two of McD/Cernak/Sergachev

If they deal a defenseman, they can go 7/3/1 and protect everyone. Seattle would likely take Mathieu Joseph or Cal Foote. If they deal a forward, they still either have to expose a defenseman, or they are only exposing two of Killorn, Palat, Gourde, which wouldn't help them any as they'd still lose one for free. If they're really smooth, they can deal a defenseman, get assets in return, give Seattle something like Foote/Ross/Joseph or a pick to take Seattle native Johnson off their hands and have solved their cap situation by shipping out a Dman with a price tag and actually getting something back and then paying a negligible price to get Seattle to take the hometown boy off their hands.

If they deal a D they get some kind of return back and then, even though they'll still have to make another move to manage the cap, they can also get a return back for one of Gourde or Killorn instead of losing them for nothing.

McD or Sergachev make the most sense as they can actually get a decent return for them, shed some cap and protect all of their most valuable assets.

No point in moving Rutta. Doesn't change their protection situation and Rutta isn't going to be the guy selected by Seattle. He's decent and cheap, which they need with their cap situation.

This is another issue, flat cap, I expect most players to go a shorter contract route than do what RNH did but I wouldn't be surpised either way I guess.. Its an interesting time in the NHL
It’s not clear to me that this is the rational reaction for a player. The pandemic showed the fragility of society as a whole. A young stud athlete might have a different outlook than old man me, but stability and certainty have a lot of value right now.

In the 1993 expansion draft, after Glenn Healy was claimed by Tampa Bay after getting claimed by Anaheim, the Rangers got him from Tampa for a 3rd round pick. Could the Rangers do this again? Is Glenn Healy coming back?

With our luck, we'd probably end up getting Glenn Foley instead (assuming Ray Lucas wasn't available). *

In this case, it means rather a lot. The season was shortened, and Chytil's was shortened more than most due to injury and Covid. EVERYONE is looked at in terms of pace this past season to put that season in context with a normal year. Pace also matters because, if it's only ever about "what a player actually puts up" then you will miss things like the fact that Chytil has put up the same production over the last three years, but he hit those numbers in significantly fewer games played in each year.
