He's enticing as a 3C, as a 2C you'd be setting yourself up for disapointment.

I just sat down and thought about something a good friend said recently about Tampas $$ situation and their history with NYR. Maybe Tyler Johnsson (~$1 M retained) and their 2021 3rd for and another pick for Colin Blackwell and eventually a small added cost controlled piece to Floridas inner coast? Would we do that stopgap idea (presuming then Strome is dealt elsewhere for other assets)? It would lead to dominoes - thats 4 sure. I dunno

Yes.So a 2C
Who cares? This playoffs his production was closer to a 4C than what any of those guys he's allegedly comparable to did.
This is even better without sound.

I mean, the argument about term is perfectly fair. He's literally the perfect player as a 3rd member of a trio of Zibanejad, Chytil, Danault as Danault doesn't need PP time to play well and effect a game positively. His p/60 is really good 5v5 and it would allow Chytil and Zibanejad the primary PP time which they should get. In saying that, I fear the term there. If Zibanejad was locked in at $7m long term I may be more open to it but he is more than likely looking at $8m+ and then Danault is looking for $6m+. Just too much tied up in those two guys.
that's not true, this actually all started bc I questioned posts that said suzuki wasnt that much better than chytil, or that chytil was actually better than suzuki. since then it has morphed from THAT to this apparent belief that I hate chytil bc I am not willing to just go along with the narrative that he is going to be a "beast of a 2c" bc of what his current production paces at and that he is magically going to see an increase in pp production even though no one can say where he is getting the additional pp minutes within this lineup. please dont pluck certain comments of mine without understand the context of what they were responding toYou are being way too critical. You are comparing his 3 to the best number at this level of ice time which was Spezza at 12 who is over 15 years older. Also, Chytil is 21 years old. You are just being hypercritical for no reason on a kid who is still developing and is already turning into a very good player.
kinda wait till the 23rd hour to see if anything bigger comes upThey have a few minor deals lined up. Or so I heard. If they like the \finalized return, then yeah. Then there will be some movement

and see this goes to what i just said to someone else. i am not crapping on fc like he is a bad player. all of my responses originated by responding to posters stating he better than suzuki or that suzuki was only slightly better bc of various numbers and that fc will automatically become a beast 2c with more numbers. I am not crapping on him, i am being tempered with expectations and also continue to question where he is getting this increased role and pp time within this lineup. for now he has plenty to improve upon within his current role on this team before he is going to get an expanded role on a team targeting the playoffs. that is really all i am saying...Yes there are also players who score more points than Artemi Panarin with the same amount of ice time. Doesn't mean he's not an effective player because he is not the absolute best.
Fourth line of Reeves - Fredric - Virtanen...LFG
I don't Virtanen is going to be playing anywhere any time soon...
Hajek still not signing is interesting. He might get dealt before 3 PM EST tomorrow methinks. Small potatoes, but still

danault would probably benefit tremendously from the offensive talent on this team and that could really help carry him into being a useful player here beyond his defense. we criticize his offensive numbers on a terrible offensive team. numbers need context. it's too bad his ask is so looking like it is so largeDanault would be like the Rangers version of Pageau. Unlike Pageau tho he ain’t signing for 5M and 6M is too high for the lack of offense
I'd give Chytil 28 over 6 years and lock him down at 4.66 per.
A criminally underrated forward that can generate offense at ES.
