Retired.
If only we could get of those overpaid UFAs we signed. Then we could finally address the real problems with this team by overpaying other guys this summer.
Same shit, different summer.
Same shit, different summer.
I think it’s mostly about the fact we had to pay a premium asset to dump him yet our bottom pairing has not really been any better.
Pie in the sky idea:
To Nashville
Panarin with $2m retained
To NYR:
Duchene with $2m retained + 2nd '23 + 2nd '24
To CLB
Duchene @ $6m
To NYR:
Texier
I was actually pro-Eichel until you reported his locker room issues in Buffalo. Did you get fed bad info or did the kid just grow up & learn from his mistakes? It was targeted at a certain poster.

The eichel locker room thing had gone back a bit but it became overblown in buffalo. Imagine a year that you draft a player like eichel and your gm is doing interviews w Jack next to him talking about being disappointed. That happened. Everything about eichel in buffalo was tainted and he didn't help the situation but he was constantly made to carry the load of the issues of a franchise that was dysfunctional from the top down. He was just an easy whipping boy, but now he is growing into his game as a man at the NHL level. Honestly, if he came here he prob wouldn't get the tough love he's gotten in Vegas from Cassidy and I doubt he would have grown the same way during the same timeframe. It was the right trade for both teams and for both of the main players in the deal.I was actually pro-Eichel until you reported his locker room issues in Buffalo. Did you get fed bad info or did the kid just grow up & learn from his mistakes?
From what I remember about Duclair, over sleeping and being late for practices was not an endearing quality to the coaching staff.I would think most people would be happy for staal. He was a warrior here for us. He was great until the eye injury and honestly given the fact he can basically see out of one eye he did an amazing job here. He was constantly asked to do too much though. Duclair is just another reminder of the orgs unwillingness to commit to young players and develop them. Kids with stand out skills like duke (especially that skating and athleticism) really are brutal to toss aside like nothing.
He's going to be 32 in October when the season starts...
Fix your problems with young players or watch someone else fix them and reap the rewards...From what I remember about Duclair, over sleeping and being late for practices was not an endearing quality to the coaching staff.
I thought every silver lining had a touch of grey.Every silver lining has a dark cloud.
Kinda suits you any way.I thought every silver lining had a touch of grey.
And the prospect pool also got really thin....yet we still have zero elite young talent. Can't say enough about that killer rebuild.Just me or did the Forward group get old really fast?
You decide if you need a Motte at the TDL... just like the last two years. With guys like Cuylle and Berard coming, I don’t get the obsession with signing Motte. Even Jimmy Vesey is a better player.
Panarin definitely screams a trotz type player to me
How about this? If Panarin goes to a non playoff team, no one will ream him out for sucking unimaginably in the playoffs... Has he looked like a guy who wanted to win a series these last two post seasons? I think a team being out of the running is a plus for him. Get Arizona on the phone!of all the reasons Panarin will have for not accepting a trade out of NY, does going to a non playoff team even make the list?
And that was all I had to sayKinda suits you any way.
I take umbrage, sir! I am at my job, fully clothed, slacking off!I love the idea of people posting on this forum in their underwear on their couch saying “does Panarin have the will to win and if traded, would even want to go to a playoff contender?”
Just absolute nonsense from some of you lol
My reference is George Carlin, Yours is Grateful DeadI thought every silver lining had a touch of grey.
Or a PlaybookI thought every silver lining had a touch of grey.
Is that true? I thought Lou did, not sure trotz actually did but after watching him recently I would be shocked that he still would if he actually did.Trotz wanted him in Long Island
They're both from the same era, so are you saying the Dead had more staying power? My reference is George Carlin, Yours is Grateful Dead
A matter of age.
