As much as he sucks in the playoffs, it wouldn’t be easy to replace the points Panarin brings during the regular season. You need guys to help get you to the playoffs too. So we’re most definitely stuck with him.
I don’t think the angst is so much that it’s ex players winning, it’s that we made bad trades to rid ourselves of those players but then it turned out they have value.
Bertuzzi has the makings of someone that will get paid this summer and will immediately become an albatross
Thank god the Rangers don’t have the space to make that mistake
Love the player or maybe more accurately the type of player he is but I could see him getting hurt often and sitting out stretches every year which would scare me off a big money big term dealBertuzzi has the makings of someone that will get paid this summer and will immediately become an albatross

Duclair? Staal has been brutal, so many give seats but I will say he was always a trooper when he was a nyr and would be happy for him to win it.Like who? Who are these former rangers who have had massive impacts for their team? Fast is the guy who had the biggest one and he wanted to leave and did so via UFA.
Howden has done some things so I guess people will want to point to him but aside from that I'm not seeing it. Staal has been horrendous.

Duclair went through 4 teams before he came a consistent regular on one team, I have a really hard time blaming NYR on that.Duclair? Staal has been brutal, so many give seats but I will say he was always a trooper when he was a nyr and would be happy for him to win it.
Right it was also a pretty good deal, just AV and his braindamage had to keep trotting Staal in the top 4 and he got like no minutes.Sure Duke (who has been pretty great, I've been very impressed with him) as well but that trade was almost 10 years ago and its not like they gave him away.
Someone will see what he did with Boston on that star studded power play and ignore the extensive injury history.
of all the reasons Panarin will have for not accepting a trade out of NY, does going to a non playoff team even make the list?
Actually it's 30.the 3 times we managed to make it with him
Actually it's 30.
I would think most people would be happy for staal. He was a warrior here for us. He was great until the eye injury and honestly given the fact he can basically see out of one eye he did an amazing job here. He was constantly asked to do too much though. Duclair is just another reminder of the orgs unwillingness to commit to young players and develop them. Kids with stand out skills like duke (especially that skating and athleticism) really are brutal to toss aside like nothing. It's funny that people are all riled up about Marc Staal and Brett Howden like they werent demanding the Rangers get rid of them. Staal in particular gave a lot to this organization but he was a pariah before he left because Sather offered him a bad contract that he accepted. I will be happy when he wins the Cup
He's going to be 32 in October when the season starts...Actually it's 30.
And it was a contract year, too, wasn’t it?I cant see why it wouldnt considering he has barely shown up for the playoffs the 3 times we managed to make it with him. The only time in his career he ever played well in a playoff series was against TB when all the pressure was on them.
Shooting that puck was literally the last thing he wanted to do. He would have rather fought Tom Wilson then shoot that puck. Wish he would take the f***ing hint...I meant 3 seasons, but yeah in 30 games the only memorable thing he's done was score that overtime goal against Pittsburgh when the entire arena was begging him to shoot for 30 seconds before he actually pulled the trigger. It was similar to doing none of the hard work and putting his name the biggest on the project right before it got turned in.
