Trading Goodrow only to see the Rangers turn around and blow that money on another overpaid 4th liner will only confirm to me what I've suspected for three years, which is that Glen Sather is still very much in charge, just not publicly.

I don’t see a big splash to even be made. Maybe Motte comes back. The success of the team has always been tied to Kakko, Chytil, and Lafreniere.

If Laf & Miller are signing shorter term deals, as has been rumored, the Rangers "cap crunch" has been overblown by the writers. 11.7 mil - 2.5 for Laf - 4.5 for Miller = 4.7 for a backup goalie, Tyler Motte, 12/13 forwards and a defenseman (QO for Jones). It's doable without using assets to get rid of Goodrow, who can still be an effective player for us despite the contract.

all of these are overpays. Yeah, they're UFAs but there's literally no cap room. These numbers, for the most part, are too inflated IMO

I'm literally laughing at some of these projected contracts. Comically inflated numbers.

How about trading Bread to Washington for Wilson and pick #40?

Washington is stuck in limbo until Ovi retires. Don’t seem to have any real playoff aspirations. This trade gives Ovi a PP running mate to help him reach the goal record. Maybe Bread would be open to getting his bro on with Ovi and Kuznetsov.

Rangers address the RW problem and get a playoff type savage with skill.

Panarin isn't waiving to go to a non playoff team that'll be (mostly) committed to 8 getting the record and not to rebuilding/retooling/planning for the future.

How so? The picks this year aren't likely to impact the roster for at least another 2 or 3 seasons. Lots of needs too. LHD, RW, LW, C, G, RHD in that order with the first two being the most pressing, but will they still continue to be needs in 2-3 years? Lots can happen.

I’m guessing he means draft day deals. Whether that’s the kids being moved, a ntc being waived, or waiving goodbye to goodrow.

I mean this all sounds good and theres SOME truth to it....

But Bobrovsky is likely going to be 2nd all time in xGSA during a playoff run since they started tracking it by the end of THIS round. They've had some great performances from other guys (Tkachuk, Montour, Bennett) but he is the only reason why their contributions have mattered at all.

Mind you, he hasn't even started every game for his team. They've been killed 5v5 in each of the last 2 series and they've ended in 5 games and this one may end in a sweep.

This is like watching Igor play with a team who has most of their top guys contributing despite being grossly outplayed.
