Please don't sign Kane. Please.

Our entire top6 plays perimeter hockey already. We don't need another dipsy-doodler; even if he would be the second or third best dipsy-doodler on the team.

Kane isn’t like the rest of our team.

Remember that goal he scored against the devils where he cut in on the goalie and flipped it top shelf, literally every other player on the team would have tried forcing the pass to Kreider on the back door (which the defender had covered) .

We have zero players who play with balls and selfishness, except maybe Chytil but that’s because he was no vision.


I’m not saying we should bring Kane back, but his attitude is what we need more of.

He ruined our PP and had no desire or ability to check. He was our biggest detriment in the playoffs. Pasha was right.

Larry is right, let the kids sink or swim starting this season. There might be a pretty good FA class coming and none of the kids make a lot of money and some teams will prob allow more patience. Rangers might find out they already have what they need. Either way it’s time to find out.

Larry is out to lunch on giving Miller PP1 time. Fox should be running the point of both.

My thought process was also, if KAM were to get on PP1 on the right wall ( imagine having a shooting threat? crazy, I know ) We could potentially two top5 Norris voted defenseman simultaneously

I don't disagree with any of this, but I don't think it justifies signing him with the current make up of the roster either. We need to be working guys into the top6 who are willing to play in the middle of the ice consistently.

If any of Wheeler/Lafreniere/Kakko/Chytil are able to take on that type of role, and our stars adjust to their games, that is how we take the next step. Signing another guy who plays eerily similar to Panarin isn't the answer.

Kane forced plenty of passes and pissed away possession with the “best” of this team, he’s not really that different

At the cost we got him, it felt like a no brainer, but at the same time no one expected our lineups and chemistry to be shot from it.

There was actually a bunch of us that expected (or feared, at least) that exactly that was going to happen.

Actually I'd say Kakko has that in him, and we've even seen it. But it needs to be more consistent.

Cool story bro but Panarin is top 5 in PP points schmoints since he's gotten here. Imaginations are sweet but in real life it doesn't suck having his elite playmaking combined with Zibs bomb on the other side. It's a proven formula. It got us cised, it will keep us cised.

Panarin needs more than that instilled in him. I'm not sure where it's going to come from, but Lavs will get first crack at it. Maybe Wheeler can help.

That doesn’t mean demoting best player to the 3rd line lol..

it can simply be done by moving Kreider down/RW or Laf to RW. That way both 1/2 OA picks get meaningful minutes with other good players

Too many people focus too much on Panarin's point totals and not enough on his overall game. Hopefully Laviolette takes more control over his ice time. Artemi has a bad habit of overextending his shifts. He needs to be held to more accountability. That curl and pass as he crosses over the blue line into the offensive zone gets picked off a bit too much for my liking. He also sometimes has a bad habit of throwing pucks away to avoid a hit. My last gripe with him is that he can't take off a third of the season hardly taking shots.....it makes it easy for other teams to read him. When he wants to be he is our most talented offensive forward but IMO he's been getting too much of a free pass from the last two coaching regimes. He needs to bear down and play smarter. He's been underperforming his salary for the past 3 seasons.

And what does cost have to do with anything? It was such a predictable and utterly stupid trade even if the cost was seen as "low". It was a stupid trade if the price was high. It was a stupid trade when the price was low.

In fact it was so predictably stupid I kinda gave up on this org. The stupidity gets tiresome.

Really? Because a huge chunk of his play comes from the power play. and Fox is much better at that too.

He was good at moving the puck out of the zone, which we have been sorely lacking at. Though I get the argument that the forwards not helping is a big part of that equation. I dont even like TDA, but I can admit he wasn’t useless.

Oh absolutely needs to start with stop trying to make miracle passes and taking shots. He’s the best forward on the team and needs to accept it and play like it.
