On Twitter, Brooks is presenting a scenario where Dubas gets fired in TO and brings Keefe with him to PGH. Then Sullivan goes to NYR. Highly unlikely, but I actually like Sullivan as a coach. And he knows the org. He likely knows Drury being a boston guy too. Not a bad idea. But with how many years Sully has on his deal, I don't see it happening. But if we did get Sully he's one of the few choices I like.

I like the way he squeezed the most out of bad rosters. When he had a good teams, he won cups. He is an adjustment guy, we needed that. We don't have a bad team, we could have even won this year if it wasn't for jersey. Sullivan would be our golden goose.
 
Sullivan hasn't got out of the first round despite having Crosby/Malkin in 5 years. This is the guy we want? Many Penguins fans don't even like him.. Same complaints as everyone has about their coach. Overplays his favorite 4th liners, can't get the PP going, can't get his team up for big games, favors the experienced players over the younger guys, stubborn/arrogant with the lines etc.

The comment or being harder to play against means more guys like Motte, Fast, Acciari, Blueger, etc. Less guys like Gauthier who he shipped out.

I wouldn’t be overly surprised to see Drury re-sign Lockwood and Blidh if they’re open to it. Those are depth options who play that type of game as well.

I assume he goes looking for more guys like Blais. Obviously that trade ended up being a huge waste for the Rangers, but the thought process (and even talent identification) was pretty much spot on.
A guy who looks like they should be able to put up 30+ points and hits for fun.

Hopefully next time it's someone who is a bit less injury prone (not that it would have mattered much with the slewfoot) and who can actually put it together in NY.

Sullivan as Asst Coach here was the engineer of the power play that had the entire MSG audience chanting “shoot da puck” for 2 min

He absolutely will get canned unless there's a miracle comeback by the Leafs (as in winning in 7, not just extending to 6).

I dunno, Dubas is without a contract i think he might be the one that takes the fall this time, Keefe hasnt had a goalie his whole tenure there, hardly his fault.
 
Sullivan sooks too much for my liking, with this fan base and him crying to the refs all the time it will be unbearable

Either way, getting better puck movement/zone entries is what would make the Rangers harder to play against. There are certainly open spots in the lineup but hopefully they will have learned that more Ryan Reaves type additions aren’t the answers

Yeah but harder to play against is an epithet for more players like Goodrow and we all know it.

Could just be Brooks opining of course.

He kept giving major minutes to the Jeff Carters of the world instead of some of their younger players. Prefers vets over the youngsters. Laf, Kakko should ask for trades if Sullivan becomes the NYR head coach.

It didn't help that Ron Hextall was one of the worst GMs in the NHL the last few years.

Lets get more Lockwood types for former 1st round picks. That would be the value if both Lafy and Kakko asked for trades
