Yeah, I mean I listen to his podcast (mostly for Vally) and it's definitely an agenda he has and it makes little sense on a multitude of fronts. Yeah, he's disappointing as a 1OA but is he a top 9 NHL player right now? Yes.

- cost controlled for another two years
- scores at even strength among the best on the team
- has a cratered value so it makes little sense to trade him low
- is 21, played for a moron coach, and still has upside and is very young

Staple should STFU.

Pacioretty?

LOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOL
Why not for league min?

Pacioretty would be a smart risk tbh.

The Rangers don't have the money to take risks and the guy is coming off a torn achilles.

I like the player, but he's played 5 games last year and 39 the year before.

I mean, if we're talking a Krecji discount contract then sure.

Why not for league min?

Like I said above, sure. But he's going to cost more than that.

Well yeah it would be entirely dependent on the money but the krejci contract is along the lines of what I was thinking.

Sure, I'd do that. He's only 34 though, so I don't see it. But I hope I'm wrong.

Wouldn't mind Toews on a cheap contract either if we're going that way.

But this is likely all just fantasy.

Staple’s had a hard-on talking about trading Kakko/Laf since joining the beat. He even had that veiled comment during Laviolette’s presser about how they’ll be used “if they’re still here”

He can f*** off with the nonsense
It's on par with some fans. Maybe he's one of them.

It's self depreciating.

"Rangers never get good prospect forwards"
*Rangers draft 1 and 2 overall.
"They need to earn their playing time"
*They don't get proper time in proper roles*
"BUSTSZzz!, trade them!!"
"Blais has potential!"

It's insanity. It's already starting with Perreault and he hasn't even stepped on to the ice since getting drafted a couple days ago.

I'm losing my f***ing mind here over this Twitter BS. Musk, get it fixed.

He came in on a PTO and signed a team friendly deal during the season. But when it come to UFA it doesn’t happen for us. The closest was Panarin talking less to sign here than the Islanders. But when you’re paid top 5/10 salary in the league at that time, not really a discount.

Vesey signed a team friendly deal in leiu of becoming a UFA so, to me, that counts.

Zuccarello took it on the chin a couple of times for the sake of the team. You can make the argument that Zibanejad gave a discount and Kreider's contract is pretty friendly too.

If you're talking July 1-10 UFA period discounts only, then, yeah, the cupboard is pretty empty.

Any ELC puck moving Dmen to trade Lafreniere for?

Also if that Quick contract is for over vet minimum it’s a bad signing
