Watch this happen:

Kreider - Zib - Duchene ($1M)
Kids
Panarin - Tro - Wheeler ($1M)
Vesey - Goodrow - Bargain bin league minimum signing
#13: Blidh

Lindgren - Fox
Miller - Trouba
Robertson/Jones - Schneider
Oaf Harpur

Shesty
Quick

They then also sign Patrick Kane in November and stash him on LTIR until PO:s. They simply cannot help themselves…
Doubt we lure both Duchene and Wheeler. My prediction is Nieto, OEL, and maybe one of Duchene/Sprong/Other Cheap Scoring Winger. Plus Quick obv.

Why?

What makes Kreider exempt from moving over to his off wing? It was tried for like two games last year and he was fine.
This works too. The line was bad defensively but can a structure/system make the loaded offensive line of Bread Mika Kreider work to his benefit?

Quick needs to come in under $1. If they can get Miller under $4 as well then they will be in much better shape. They should still try to trade Goodrow to give themselves the flexibility of signing a decent RW. Aka Tarasenko.

I’ve said this with the Yankees (and the Rangers kids are much more talented). You either need to give them a real shot (look at Florial in AAA meanwhile the Yankees had no CF at one point with Judge/Bader injured that they put IKF there. Hats off to him he did it but not the point. The same with Peraza who could be playing for Donaldson etc.

Play the kids and give them the best opportunity or trade one at least to add something you need.

It’s why I ignore him. He said the Rangers at the deadline might bargain hunt and they got Tarasenko AND Kane plus Motte back.
To be fair, he does follow it with it being likely that he’s back on a short-term deal. Pretty much everyone is expecting a bridge deal and has been reporting it’ll be a similar one to Kakko

Screw that. 800K + performance bonuses or take a f***ing walk.

EDIT - and that "quietly shopping Lafreniere..." bit is really troubling for a 21 year old 1OA. Have some f***ing patience, please.
I really question Staple’s sources and thought process when it comes to Lafreniere. He’s been talking about him possibly being traded for months now despite all the logic indicating that it would be the worst time to trade him. Are they really going to sell low on the only first overall pick in franchise history? Where do they replace his 40 points almost all at even strength for a similar price? Idk something tells me Staple is trying to make it a story.

Would you rather have a rookie GM or a rookie coach? The Rangers don't want to hire a first time coach but the Rangers hired a first time GM to finish off the rebuild. The Rangers are in trouble with Drury.

Meh. He was an assistant GM for 6 years. He's no rookie and he didn't hand out the pre covid contracts and the ensuing flat cap that ensued.

He's been middle of the road so far but this year, for sure, will be his most challenging

I mean this is a little unfair and misleading. Drury has/had surrounded himself with experienced people on his staff. Ryan Martin is no slouch.

Yeah, I mean I listen to his podcast (mostly for Vally) and it's definitely an agenda he has and it makes little sense on a multitude of fronts. Yeah, he's disappointing as a 1OA but is he a top 9 NHL player right now? Yes.

- cost controlled for another two years
- scores at even strength among the best on the team
- has a cratered value so it makes little sense to trade him low
- is 21, played for a moron coach, and still has upside and is very young

Staple should STFU.

Eklund (I know, I know) saying the rangers are signing quick and pacioretty.....

Pacioretty?
