How much does Fast want? 3 years 2.5M? I'd take that over Goodrow in a heart beat.
No. No. No.

We should not be paying more than $1 million for 3rd/4th liners. The free agent market is flooded with them.

Elliote Friedman was on SiriusXM this morning. He said Nashville is not tendering 7 of their 9 RFAs. Seven. Its not to say these are high end RFAs that they are simply letting walk, but you can guess what they are which is more 3rd/4th liners. A lot of teams might be going this route due to the money.

Dont spend stupid money on bottom 6 role players

Only guy in Nashville worth anything is Novak. He’s going to have a massive break out season under Brunette.

And Fast+another signing is a massive upgrade over Goodrow.

Erik?

I doubt he'd agree to go there.
Don't know why. Nice place to play. Good core. Cap space. New York City. Respected GM. Respected Captain. Their team would be very dangerous with Karlsson on the right. It would make the New York swing for teams a nightmare. Play us, Devils and Isles. Hell, we might be the weakest team of the bunch.

He'll have MUCH more attractive options.

Also for all the doom and gloom about the Rangers, the Isles are significantly worse.

With what cap? They can’t afford him at 8m a year.
And that’s as low as sjs has said they’ll eat.

Barbashev $5M AVV is worth more in Vegas because Nevada is a no state income tax state. $644,175 less paid in taxes between Nevada and New York.

There is a reason why all of the players want to play in Florida, Texas, Nevada and Tennessee.

Washington is also a no state income tax state.

All of our taxes in NYC go towards paying the pensions and retirements for sanitation workers and MTA employees.
Actually, as I understand it, only the Vegas HOME games (or games in other tax free states) are tax free. Where you play the games, where you earn your salary, matters as to taxes. Any NYR, any hockey player at all, can list a primary residence in a no tax state and pay non resident taxes in every OTHER state they play in. Including NY. NY is STILL more expensive than most, but it's not quite as extreme of a difference as it might seem.

more like all our taxes go to cops, cop pensions, and settlements involving cops breaking the law.
