I like Jonathan Quick as the back up. There are options out there. The salary needs to be $1 million or less on a short term deal.

RE: Barbashev deal — $5x5. Does that help with the AAV for a Tarasenko deal here? Barbashev is younger and can play all 3 positions. $4x4 for Tarasenko.

Would be amazing if we could get RoR on the cheap to be the 4C. He could move up and down the lineup as needed and/or when there are injuries. Has the leadership and grit we could use. Doubt we will get him on the cheap though.

So far there hasn’t been a move that has me thinking we missed out.

Buying out Goodrow literally pays for Miller’s 1st year or close to it (3.6-4M). I don’t know how this hasn’t happened yet. (Unless they have trade offers).

Then it becomes 11M m+ of cap for Laf and whatever else. Which makes the cap look much better.

Think they're exhausting all options, buyout window runs til Friday so no rush.

Cannot wait for the cringeworthy coverage of the NHL draft by ESPN

Breathtaking analysis incoming.

Neither are ready yet per se. I’d love to give them both a shot but for them to play top 4 min or Robertson or jones or f***ing Harper.. that’s what you would have in top 4. Disgusting
it is not a given there would be major and continued suckage while we experienced a drop off due to growing pains
but you can't ignore reality
surplus premium assets must be sold for younger quality to manage cap, keep roster young
\period there is no getting around it

there are guys we have mo valuable than Lindy
and other guys who aren't but don't have flexibility to move them

accept the short term pain for the long term gain

I know most here disagree and I don't care. If Reaves wants to come back on a team-friendly deal, Drury should accommodate.

He'd be purely signed for his Alpha mindset and locker room/bench presence. He was actually a much better player in Minnesota though

I feel like the rangers are just waiting to be able to move these high priced players and rebuild. I hate to say it but this core isn’t going to win anything
