A player can be placed on waivers tomorrow June 30 and be bought out on July 1. Goodrow.

I’m not sure that’s going to be possible lol. Buyout looks more likely.
First two years have cap credits. The next GM will worry about the last 4 years of the buyout.

Hanifan has a $4.95M cap hit for this season. Dubas brought in Smith for $5M. He still needs a goalie or two.

Based on the acquisition of Smith and the Pens pursuit of Hanifan, I am assuming Granlund will be bought out. If yes, there's another low-cost option for RW

Let Vince know lol.
It's has happened in previous years. Team waives the player on June 30. Vince is new.

I read Dubas wants to change up his bottom six. Pittsburgh has the space for Goodrow's money. Not that many teams have the space.

Yeah there may have been another team trying to trade with Pittsburgh to jump them so they matched the price probably being paid
I hope it was in consideration of another team’s offer to Pittsburgh for the pick. Otherwise it just doesn’t make sense.

Tyler Bertuzzi is supposedly going to market. If we can get him for 6 or 6.5 I'm all in. This team desperately needs a Bertuzzi type player. If we get him we trade K'andre for picks and a prospect.
that doesn't make us better

I really find it surprising how loosely people are trying to move KAM. He's our 2nd best defenseman... 2nd only to Adam Fox... arguably the best defenseman in the league. He's 23 years old. He's a stud. We'd be braindead to trade him.

Drury wants to make that type of trade where the Rangers shed Goodrow's contract and avoid attaching assets in a trade and doesn’t have to buy him out.
I know Drury has said they won't attach anything to get rid of Goodrow, but why would anyone give up anything for Goodrow if they think the Rangers are going to buy him out?

If they do trade Goodrow, I think the return will be a lot less than people think; even though they would get much needed cap space. JMO.

Goodrow might actually want to be traded.
A buyout and he probably doesn’t even get 1.5m on the market, and loses a significant amount of money.
He may open up the ntc

I hope so, but I still don't think the return will be much. I agree he won't get anywhere near $3.65M per year on his next deal.

I agree moving KAM is dumb, but him being the 2nd best to Fox is more an indictment on NYR D corps than on KAM’s talent

There’s no cap room for him at 4 let alone 6.5

Not really. He dragged Trouba around 3/4ths of the season and struggled with consistency.

He should be way more consistent with some actual coaching and structure. His potential is through the roof.

KAM, even as raw and inconsistent as he is, is a #2 right now IMO. He easily has the potential for #1D and imo potential for Norris
