Re-Sign Tarasenko. Re-Sign Kane and LTIR him.

This assumes Goodrow is not back. You can possibly fill one of those spots with Motte. Cuylle could be an option too. Othmann.

I see a lot of fans posting lineups with Noel Acciari getting $1.5 aav. That just cannot happen. You gotta find the guys willing to play for $1 million or less. That rule applies to Motte too. And you can find quality role players for the 4th line. They are out there. Bjugstad probably gets a pay bump but he interests me. However, there is a plethora of others. Lars Eller is another. JT Compher. The 4th liners are out there. And I am sure there will be plenty of guys willing to sign a 1 year deal with the hope that the cap does jump next offseason to possibly get a 2-3 year deal at a higher AAV.

Tarasenko probably would have to REALLY want to stay here to sign for what we could afford even moving Goodrow unfortunately

I agree about plenty of 4th liners. I think we should use Cuylle and Vesey ideally too on the 4th line so just find a center making like 1M or so.

There is some logic to taking a short deal if he thinks he can stay healthy. 1-2 years to let the cap jump.
But if he's worried about an injury then he's gonna want 7 years.

Laf has to get higher than LW3 to reach anything. I agree I wouldn’t trade either one lol.

Someone on cap friendly a flames fan mentioned 23 + Goodrow for Toffolli. I mean I do it if we can sign Toffolli beyond this year reasonably. Don’t want to give up 1sts anymore for rentals.

I would do that in a heartbeat. Barclay can play with his old Tampa buddy Coleman

But even at 1-2 years what’s he looking at per? At least 4 you would think?

Tarasenko on a 1 year 4 mil bridge to next years cap jump. Good fit for Laviolette and he’s the type of leader we need. He can still play and looked healthy last year. Seemed like he liked it here after feeling under appreciated in St. Louis

No chance in hell a team gives Tarasenko more than 3 years. Not one he can win with at least

Well, if we want to have a checking line, hes an elite 3C checking line center for a team with cup aspirations.
I am laughing bc I said the moment he was signed that he is a 2c on a playoff contender but he slots as a 3c on a true cup contender and had 95 percent of this board blowup at me about it until more people started to understand that it wasn't a slight to the player but more of a comment on proper roster construction...

Both are easily 2C’s. Theres not 60 better centers than them. The issue is in HF world, 1st line centers are only superstars, guys called 2nd line centers are actually 1st line centers so on and so forth.
They are both tweeners, top 60 is so misleading bc it suggests they could be in the top level, it's so disingenuous because would you also suggest McDavid is a top 60? Obviously no. Slot them where they belong which is in the 40-70 range depending if we are counting "hit posts" for one of them or "points if not for injuries" for the other. They are mid six centers

Took a shot.. I used AFP for projected cap. Got about 900K in cap space left.

Some of these could be low but again going by their projections

If Otthman not ready move up Vesey and sign someone around the price of Otthman (we found Vesey so we can find another player)

I'd like more discussion, if all are down for it, on constructive ideas about moving bread and Trouba.

JT I don't see it, but I believe he gets he will be moved b'c cap after this season. He MIGHT be willing to go now if we bend over backwards to send him to preferred relocation choice. Might have to be tri-state -- YIKES!! -- but could see DET, FL/TB and possibly LA as fits.

AP is a premium piece, but he only functions as a premium piece if x, y, and z all line up to accommodate his game. He cannot be allowed to remain as a prima donna dictating how this roster is shaped/functions. Possible landing sites -- Nashville [package], ANA [reunite w/R Strome; tho not contenders, if they click again they could be flipped as a pair to a contender], St. Louis [for Parayko], and another 1 or 2 I am forgetting. Let's cover all bases.

While we can quibble about the returns, assets gotten back is secondary. Roster flexibility w/better cap space is premium.

While the floor should always be open to a competition of ideas, I am suggesting this in coordination w/my plan to promote kid line, get a dif F to play w/Kreid - Zib at 2nd line, possibly Othmann, and punish Panarin by playing him 3rd line, where he currently belongs.

Extend KAM long term
If we flip bread for Parayko, we can deal Lindgren and play Fox at LD til we move JT so Para/Trouba/Schneider short term, then flip Para

Take this for what its worth but tarasenko just BOUGHT a house in CT and his wife got a 2 year membership at equinox locally. All in the past week. Odd to say the least.

You move Goodrow if it helps the team fit Tarasenko, not so we can afford 2 4th liners.. Vladdy raises the floor of the team and as I've mentioned, I love his leadership for this team specifically.

Panarin has a no move clause and does not want to be traded, by all accounts. Until I hear otherwise, it’s a waste to consider options to move him.

Trouba was named captain of the team last season, and also has a no move clause.

While these moves might be the right moves for the team in a fantasy world, they’re not grounded in reality. I don’t see this as an option going into next season.

If this is true, there are 6 teams he could sign with that arent far away. This doesn't confirm anything with the Rangers, if it even true.

What sort of contracts are you giving Tarasenko and Kane in this scenario?

When Kane comes off LTIR, how are we fitting him under the cap and whose spot is he taking?
