Laf has done nothing more or less to deserve a contract higher in AAV than Kakko or Chytil before him. Why would he get 2.5?

Brod and Blidh (in their limited time) have provided average 4th line production, or lack there of. Haha. If they are not sufficient 4th liners, there is a host of capable players that are staring down the barrel of league minimum or just above. Hinostroza, Watson, Kiviranta, Ritchie, Leivo, Gagner, Maenalanen, Stepan, Brown, Belzile, Tierney, Zohorna, Hunt (Haha), etc..

People complain that we spend too much money on bottom line players that should be league minimums. Well this is a proposal to spend the money on the top of the lineup instead of the bottom. Push guys down/fill out the top of the order with guys that can play the style of game we want, instead of being too soft, or one dimenesional, or east-west up top and then just have 3 guys that play the way the whole team should play on 1 line. What impact would that have? A fast and tough 4th line doesn't impact anything unless the team is like that.

500K in cap? Why? I am watching 2 teams in the Cup right now that at times this season had negative cap space. Why are we still the only team in the league not using LTIR? Emergency callups? Vegas has a f***ing 93 million dollar payroll this season. We are the only ones following the rules! Bunch of boy scouts. Ha

Cap projecting higher may get him 2.5 x 2
Ideally it’s the same as Kakko but he’s got more points than Kakko prior to year 3 no?

Regardless it should be a bridge deal which ideally gets done prior to July 1st . Same with Miller . He’s likely getting the Dobson deal imo

Non-LTIR teams always leave approximately 500k to 1 mil under the cap for roster moves. If players get injured, we need cap space to call up replacements. Remember what happened last season when we were pinching pennies to fit Kane under the cap? You want to go through that for an entire year? The team has to play short before they can use the emergency callup, and that goes for each time an emergency arises. We also need to accrue cap space to make moves at the deadline. If you don't have any cap space, then you can't add any players.

Drury won't do it. No GM will start the season with only 1 spare player and no cap space (whether it's regular cap space or LTIR space).

If you want to make use of LTIR, how do you propose we do it? None of our players are injured. Signing Kane and placing him on LTIR doesn't help, as I've explained in detail previously. Short of giving Panarin the Nancy Kerrigan treatment and putting him on LTIR for the entire season, what's your plan?

People are unreasonably down on Lafreniere, probably because he was a consensus 1OA instead of a 2OA pick.

He has more PPG than Kakko (slightly) and he's a year behind in development. Yes, Kakko's metrics and overall game is better but I'm not ready to close this door.

Cooley is not a guarantee, but is worth investing in -- but again peeps, currency, currency, currency.
No moving foundation piece Chytil

remember Cooley is not available upcoming season, has committed to continue college, and it is a good idea to let him at 5'10 add some bulk betw now and his NHL debut

AZ needs young talent prefer can contribute now/soon.
We can do:
Sykora
BMB
Korczak
Leshhitshow
Jones
NY 1st 23? OA
Avs 2023 3rd
WPG 2023 6th

for

Cooley
AZ 2023 2nd, 3rd + 4th

Syk + BMB are legit prospects which could conceivably debut, best case scenario, but still not unimaginable, later in this upcoming season, so = value.
Ditto NY 1st, Avs pick
Jones throw in from us but worth a compete inn camp, and then use/flip
Kor is a nothing- burger, but he is a free nothing burger.
6th is to move Les and balance picks' value

Rs move down 1st round to 2nd, move up 3rd o a better 3rd = 4th

? would be if someone tops that offer.
Again, Cooley = long term gain, so that is not clear as to how many teams will bid

Ny gains cap, replace these guys w/newer draftees

Go w/bern plan
kid line now AT LEAST 2nd line, maybe1st
Kreid - Zib - Othman or Brod depending on chemistry
Cuylie - Tro - bread to 3rd line
_____ - Goodrow - Vesey

lock up KAM 6.25 x 8
show me for LaF

if we get good enuf RD, pref foundation piece, then consider some games Trouba to 4RW

sell high Lindgren
bite the bullet play youth robertson + Scanlin

Surprised noone yet connected Panarin new haircut to upcoming lobotomy with recovery of 8-9 mo away...

I'd rather sign Engvall for $3M

Zibs is also notorious for skating away from scrums.

Kakko and Laffy need to develop that mean streak. Cuylle and Othmann would definitely add it

Lafy has a mean streak, sticks up for teammates more than the leaders do.

Lafy had 3 fights in his young career. How many has Mika Panarin or the other leaders have had?

Wait....what does fighting have to do with anything?

And i dont want Mika or Panarin fighting...it would be stupid for them to be in the box when they are needed on the ice. Leaders dont have to fight or have a mean streak to be leaders.....

Laf probably has more points on a less stacked forward group where he is getting solid pp1 minutes.

Laf to VAN for Garland & 11

Laf to ARZ for the right to Cooley

If either were presented to me as GM, I’d have to really think about it

No to the first one.
The second one Arizona hangs up the phone rather quickly.

So you would not want to see Panarin or Mika defend their teammates? No one complains when Crosby or Ovechkin sticks up for a teammates or themselves. You think their coaching staff tells them to skate away like they don’t care

Agree that they shouldn’t be fighting, but what has Panarin done to provide leadership as a Ranger? He shouldn’t have an A next year. Mika shouldn’t either but that’s more because he is already asked to do a crazy amount on the ice, it shouldn’t be his job to deal with off ice leadership as well. He’s not that player.

Well at this point, with Lavi now, I can see us signing Hathaway. I am not a huge fan. He isn't quick but he is tough. I wouldn't offer him anything over 1 million. I am not even sold he is a better player than Vesey.

Lavi likes tough, in your face, players. I think he is going to like the players coming up in our system. Especially Cuylle and Othmann. They play right into that wheelhouse.
