If 4th liners could score they wouldn't be 4th liners

This would be an Adam Fox 2.0 lottery for us if Cooley wants out.
Yup exactly. Its apparently picking up steam that he’d opt to stay at minny for 3 years rather than play for AZ. Which begs, can you risk that if youre AZ?

4th liners need to do other stuff. PK, protect leads, hits, fight, cycle, etc.

I always hated especially during the dark ages when the Rangers brought in 4th liners who could only fight or would play 5 minutes a night.

AZ will want more and other players to be included. That second line has the chance to implode or be a defensive mess.
AZ has no leverage. And with their situation they wont want more flights risks. I think its a fair offer theyd have to consider. Who can offer better? They want to be a cap floor team and not risk more flight risks so a ton of draft picks probably isnt exactly what they want.

- They get a 23 year old top 6 C on a very reasonable contract locked up for 4 years
- a good prospect 22 year old PMD
- #23 OA

Dom Moore and Brian Boyle had more talent than Tyler Motte and were important 4th liners that were shutdown players. I want 4th liners like that, the ones that are good like the Rangers used to have not some injury prone fringe 4th liners that are one dimensional with speed pk and nothing else.

The Logan Cooley situation is an interesting one out in AZ. And makes you think theyre not gonna wanna lose him for nothing. Return wise they probably want a young-ish player already on an NHL contract. Chytil seems to make a lot of sense.

If they feel they cant sign him how are they gonna say no to a 23 year old Filip Chytil locked up for 4 years?

This then opens roughly another $3.5ish in cap space for us too. Curious to see if anything happens with AZ and the cooley situation at the draft

Say

To AZ: Chytil, #23 OA and Zac Jones

To NYR: Logan Cooley

Lafreniere for Cooley could be interesting if the Rangers want to move him. Yotes coach had Laf for the Canadian Junior team.

No way I trade Chytil for him. He just signed a bargain contract and we need more players who can skate and score goals not less. He can be our Hintz.

Pierre LeBrun reported that Bill Guerin will likely be trying to move Alex Goligoski since they’re approaching their cap crunch of hell season. He was scratched a lot last year, but still could be a good 6D if we need if they don’t want to give Jones a chance. Put him with Schneider and force Schneider to stop pinching and being uber-aggressive all the time. Could be a decent alternative for the people who want to re-sign Mikkola. One year left at $2M. Would be a better PP2 option than Trouba too.

LeBrun also mentioned Duhaime and Marco Rossi in the article. Rossi would be a great add to help bolster the lack of young forwards in the pipeline.
do not want
Rossi -- what is the price?

Staple with a trade options article. Garland, Konecny, Boeser. Cooley. DeBrinc/Scheifele/Nylander on the more unlikely side.

I don’t hate the idea of trading for a winger on the younger side who can play in the top 6 now and later. Konecny in particular. Idk how we get him from Philly without it really hurting but he plays with energy and I think could really breakout on a team like ours )30-30 in 60 games last year). I’m as open to moving Laf as Ive ever been for a player who fits that mold.

Too much.

And I like Cooley. Take out the 23rd overall pick and have Arizona send back a bottom pairing or 7th defenseman that's better than Harpoon and I think you have something.

I like cooley alot. I think he may end up as the best player in that top 4.
I dont want to move chytil in that deal.

Id rather include 23 and jones than chytil.

Still?

I didn't mind it in my 20s as a novelty. Not in the mood to be in a mosh pit 7 AM in the morning getting elbowed in the kidneys smelling beer and piss.

Not to mention the looneys are out and you have to be extra diligent nowadays.
As opposed to driving where you have the same looneys but they're in a 4,000 pound SUV and will run you over to get six inches closer to the red light?

I feel a lot safer on the train.

I feel a lot safer on the train.

I drive to the Penn area for work 4 days a week after taking the subway to the city for high school/college/work for 15 years. Driving is 10 times better.

Although when I worked nights, the highways in NYC turn into Toad’s Turnpike

I understand but cooley can skate as well, is a top 5 prospect in hockey, 19 year old center with 3 years of an elc.

Based on the feedback itt, some saying too little, some saying too much, its probably a fair trade proposal

I grew up in the burbs (not sure if you did) so my POV may be a little different and not as fun. Plus I'm an introvert. I can be social but I don't like being in loud bars.

I do the subway when I need to but I prefer remote working so much more or driving to a burbs satellite workspace.

Fair is not the ?.
Yes, he will not be given to us.
But idea will be to add to Chytil/bluest blue chips in our core.

Too busy atm to think of an offer, but would not put Chytil in it.

On one hand, I get the frustration with certain aspects of the team, but on the other hand I and others warned you guys like, on Christmas that we couldn't beat NJ in a series and you woke up and chose disappointment.

Some like to be relatively close to the training facility like 20 minutes away. Living in CT has other tax implications.

Is the second star Kane? That was a trade deadline rental. Good shot he's not back.

There will always be players who want to come to a various city. Part of my thesis is the "New York Lore" doesn't exist anymore in the age of social media. What is the lore anymore? Because Frank Sinatra sang a song? The whole bright lights, big city thing doesn't mean what it did back in the day.
Lol yeah well your thesis is trash

Panarin got the buzz cut. I wasn’t actually serious about him going to Ukraine…
Pics or it didn't happen.

@EdJovanovski not posting it first.... need a wellness check

we didn't beat NJ because we underperformed.

You think it's a talent issue. I don't. I think it's a coaching/playing like a team issue. Advanced stats are relative. When you're playing like a team, everyones metrics are elevated. 'Rising tide lifts all ships' When you're a group of individuals, it's hit or miss.

Cooley is a center. If youre going to trade for him he needs a spot in the lineup to play. The obvious move to get a 19 year old of his caliber is to move a young-ish pro on your team who has value + cooley slots right into his spot.

The problem with that is you’re moving Chytil for cooley, and what message does that send Laf and Kakko.
Chytil just signed a 4 year deal without trade protection, and he’s immediately moved.
Gives them significantly less incentive to sign any deal that’s easily moved.
