We're not signing that many players IMO. Can't spend that much on a 4th line. League minimum players. Like Cuyle - Blueger - Vesey.
Take that money and sign a better middle6 player, like Engvall. No to Kane. Pray Othmann makes it out of camp. I liked Mikkola but for cap purposes, it's gonna be Jones' job to lose. It'd be amazing if we could merge those two players into one.

So no spot for Cuylle or Othmann shou;d have just dealt them. Smith really. He is not Riley Smith and not that good. Yea you are Drury. Enough of Tyler Motte. What is the obsession with a guy that gets hurt and is a smaller defensive gauthier. Rather have Othmann Edstrom or Cuylle take their roster spot and give them a chance to make the team. Enough of overpaid 4th line vets.

4c's should be drafted and developed and better than Brodzinski. If this team after 4 years of a rebuild doesn't have an answer to 4c then thats the most embarrassing thing about this rebuild.
It’s easy to hate on Trouba, but I think it would surprise a lot of ppl here how much he’s valued by the rest of the league, especially with the upcoming cap growth. If you think that sounds crazy, look no further than what Risto returned. Like him or hate him, he’s a bit of a unicorn in today’s game with a profile many GMs salivate over.

I sousing be surprised to see Drury, as well as other teams, go in to the season with at least one 4th line forward spot open and sign a few vets to near minimum salaries to fight for that spot.
With the style of play the team wants, having a 4th line forward out of guys like Lockwood, Blidh or someone else they sign from a similar cloth shouldn’t hinder this team from making the playoffs.

I’d be surprised those players get resigned
Rather have Edstrom spot to lose out of camp; played pro hockey and physically mature since he is older than someone like Sykora for example. Rather have a kid line of Cuylle Edstrom/McBain and Trivigno for example. Enough with Lockwood Brodzinksi. Why cant the Rangers draft the next Dominic Moore. Remember when he was a 4ht liner. Or trade a pick for a young 4th liner like when they traded for Boyle
How about Jack McBain from the Yotes RFA needs a new contract. Brings size grit and scored about 10 goals last year. Better than Brozinski and other AHL scrubs.

Edstrom isn’t on the same level as guys like Brodzinski, Lockwood or Blidh. Maybe in another year.
Edstrom played pro hockey in Sweden not some Junior team. He played pro hockey past few seasons. I doubt he needs to play much time in Hartford. I can see him making the team out of camp. Lockwood or Bidhl are AHL players for a reason, they are not that good to be an NHL regular and is a waste of a contract.

Anybody hear any rumor regarding Braden Schneider and Chytil for PLD and Villi Heinola? How is 1 year of PLD a good move? And how does PLD signed fit long term? Not a Dubois guy personally but whatever..

Wouldn't have been a problem if they let Zibanejad walk. It was one or the other. Having both was never an option because of the cap.

I still think it was the right decision the way it shook out. Having Eichel at a $10 million cap hit with Panarin and Trouba still on the team would have put this team in even more cap hell. Plus no guarantee his spine would stay attached to the rest of him.
