Speaking of Goodrow, I was trying to think of teams the Rangers can trade him too.

What about a deal around Goodrow and Jones to Calgary for Dube and Vladar.

Rangers get a young player that can fit into the lineup and a backup goalie. I believe I did hear the Flames were willing to deal Vladar at the deadline.

Flames get someone with PO experience and grit to replace them possible losing Lewis/Lucic/Ritchie.

Flames just missed the PO this year so they're not that far out.

Not sure the Flames are willing to deal Dube but in this deal they get someone who could play on the 4th line or maybe set up to the 3rd line with Coleman--2 nasty pests. Calgary also gets Jones who can set in and play as their 6 dman.

Money wise is almost a wash. Not sure Calgary would be on Goodrow no trade list (possible all the Canada teams),

One more team might be some deal centered around Nashville with Goodrow and Sissons Rangers may need to add to this deal as Sissons make about a million less than Goodrow.

Would really like Trenin but a highly doubt Nash would trade him.

Maybe Drury picks up the phone and calls his buddy in St. Louis again and offers up Goodrow straight up for Kapenan not a great deal but at least Kap is a RW. Play him on the 4th line and maybe with some ice time he'll produce.

Anyway, Goodrow needs to go and if we can't clear cap space then deal him in a deal that is cash in cash out.

If there is an actual player named Dude there, I'm now a Calgary Flames fan

Elliotte said the Rangers will take the weekend to see who they might offer the head coaching job to. He mentioned Laviolette and Hynes. If there is someone else on the list, he is not aware of them.

It better be Hynes over Laviolette.

Look forward to next week when Elliotte lets us know that they're interviewing Roy and Leach for a 2nd time 3 days after it already happens.

This is exactly the loser take that I hate amongst our fan base- a guy who has bo idea what it takes to win. And doesn’t care obviously.
1) Name a better ufa signing in franchise history.
2) tell me what his cap hit should be that would make you happy

You do realize that by asking people to name a better UFA signing in franchise history, you are basically saying “which lump of shit do you like the most”, right? Signing UFAs to big deals is almost always a mistake, and this team has been historically bad at it.

Yes, I’m terms of regular season production Panarin has been a successful UFA signing. That has zero impact on the fact that this team is not winning the Stanley Cup with him on it, playing the way he does, occupying the cap space he does.

I'd argue Gaborik even though he wasn't here that long

They signed for a near identical cap hit % (13.2 vs 14.2), Gaborik was much worse, had two bad years out of four, and also hadn't produced in the playoffs. There is no argument in favor of Gaborik.

Not that these are relevant at all but...

1. Adam Graves
2. For no showing in the playoffs? no more than 7 mill.

Even then, you could do better for 7.
It makes passing time waiting for the HC news a bit less slow for me thinking about the reverse translation of this ядовитая пилюля of yours (guessing what was the English original and why)

Panarin needs a good offseason training, it seems that he started coasting in the offseason and it's carried over to the nhl season. His biggest problem right now though is that he doesn't have that give and go center to play with.

2 bad years? 40+ goals in year 1 and 3 and while he only had 48 points in year 3, that was still good enough for 3rd on the team. He may not have done much in the playoffs but nobody else did either.

Yes, two great years and two bad years.

Anyone who thought this was going to be more than a million was dreaming

This league is a joke
Yet all teams have to deal with it

We're the only morons that handed the biggest (at the time) contract out to a perimeter player WHILE we were just starting to rebuild.

The cap is bullshit. But it's a league-wide issue.

We just can't stop ourselves from constantly throwing jewels at the whore on the corner.

More and more every day I am certain that JD really pushed for it as his mark coming back to the Rangers. He knew him in Columbus and wanted to make a splash.

He just hired Babcock. Risky hire. Poor track record with young players. Potential Canadian bias. The Jackets are almost only young players and many are not Canadian. Should be interesting. Maybe he has changed.
