strome actually isnt terrible there at the 2C

much sleeping on this guy. hes talented and motivated.

i think that line will be ok actually and stromer will be a good fit. hes playing for a contract and I'm sure wants to stay put and take that 2C job and keep it.

lets not underestimate the experience he's got playing center

im a strome guy
Based on what he's done in the past, he's terrible there at 2C. Maybe he can suddenly take a big step but there's really nothing that he's done so far that indicates that he's capable of playing that position well. He's 26 and broke 40 points once 5 years ago.

Ho Sang is the only guy that really interests me because of the upside skating and play making ability. We could give him a look. But I don’t think we will.

I would probably bet on Ho-Sang never scoring more than 15 goals in an NHL season and even 10 is a stretch. He's been good at some other things in his brief time though.

Chemistry aside, Lemeiux has looked pretty excellent all camp, he's young enough that it's very believable that he's simply taken a step and can be an effective third line player. Lias has looked capable of 3C duties, same deal as Lemieux in terms of it being pretty believable that he's just taken a step as a young player. Vlad isn't a world beater by any means but he's not way out of his depth on an NHL third line.

Fourth line has two capable fourth line wingers and a questionable 4C, which yeah isn't great but not a nightmare.
Would not call McKegg or Haley capable fourth liners, I don't think either of them are NHLers imo.

He’s still young enough that I might be interested. But Anaheim’s 8 wingers aren’t better than the Rangers 8 wingers, so why is he making the Rangers when he couldn’t make the Ducks?

I remember Sprong was the guy we were upset we took Gropp over

I'd sure be interested in hearing what the Rangers think of Daniel Sprong. I saw quite a bit of him last year in Anaheim and I though he played pretty well. 14 goals in 47 games. He does have a reputation of being a bit of a head case though. One year at $750K? I guarantee someone will pick him up.

It's kind of the wrong time for the Rangers to be looking at guys like that, we have bigger talents with some of the same issues starting off in the AHL. Maybe Ho-Sang can be recast as a bottom six cycle guy, but I doubt Sprong can.

Someone definitely will. Rangers are pretty high in the order.
