We can offload Panarin at say 9-10 mill, sign Tarasenko, Motte, and Mikkola and still save $. Also means we can keep Goodrow which is fine for a team looking to be harder to play against. Also gives us more flexibility going into Kakko, Lindgren, Schneider RFAs
Goodrow is as easy to play against as people think the rest of the Rangers are.

He can't skate and does absolutely NOTHING in the playoffs.

All he's ever done is be the third wheel on a line that was good for Tampa.

Agreed. He also makes too many stupid mistakes and turnovers.

If you are one of the donks who love big names and salivate over every guy that comes up in rumors, it's incumbent on you to learn from this. You were all bamboozled. We had the template. We rounded it out with jokers.

It's unfortunate in a draft as ridiculous as this one we had 2 picks and gave one away. Big holes on the right side that we band-aid with rentals, sill fairly inexperienced.. this series isn't over, this team looked like a cup contender the first 2 games but the wheels fell off. If they don't pull this off it goes back to the same question as before .. whats the actual plan here? Just give up assets every deadline in an attempt to fix RW?

I'm hoping like hell they find a way to pull it off, no doubt. BUT, if this ends Saturday or Monday like it looks like it well, well .. it's a great opportunity to make some big changes. Last year's run, which was f***ing awesome, make no mistake, but also quite lucky (Crosby, Domingue, Carolina goalie carousel) bought Gallant more time and covered up some issues.

Panarin and Mika deserve all the blame in the world, but they're probably not going anywhere. Goodbye Kane, Goodrow, Laf .. and hopefully bring in some guys that can skate. This team would be one of the slowest in the league if it was 1984.

If the Rangers lose:

1. Fire Gallant
2. Find a deal for Panarin even if it includes some retention
3. Don't touch re-signing Kane with a 10 foot pole
4. Trade Goodrow
5. Re-sign Miller and Laff
6. Re-sign Tarasenko and Mikkola if they take reasonable deals

Chytil has been re-signed.
Wouldn't give Tarasenko even close to what he is gonna want (4.5 million plus). Mikkola is ok and tries but most likely best to move on from him as well. He's not gonna take 1.5 million or less which is what I would offer him.

Fire Drury
Fire Gallant
Trade Panarin
Trade Zibanejad
Trade Kreider
Trade Trouba
Trade Lindgren
Trade Goodrow

Resume the rebuild that was abandoned.

Build a team. Build an identity.

When the drafted players are ready to contend, then go out and acquire complimentary vets to play behind the home grown leaders. Like every Stanley Cup Championship team has done since the lockout. Since before the lockout.

Oops forgot about Chytils new deal! $4.5MM for say 3 years would be fair for Tarasenko. Anything north of that I agree.

I actually like Mikkola, but that spot HAS HAS HAS to be filled with a puck mover and someone that can skate. Rest of D is locked up unless there’s a surprise Miller/Lindy trade. So that spot has to be the one we fill with someone like Jones, Ghost, etc ..

Find me some asshole players. For all positions. Rival fans don't like Lindgren because he's an asshole to play against. He'll knock anyone down in front. And the dude can actually play also. We need a couple of wingers like that and another D like that. One who can play better hockey than Trouba and will cost far less.

This coach will never give Jones a chance unfortunately.

Yea .. sadly doesn't look like he'll ever get a real look. 2 years ago we were drooling over Nils, Jones, Robertson. Life comes at you fast

But also, I don't think we will need to worry about THIS coach being here if they don't win the next 2 games.

That’s the kind of thinking that traded Buch for Blais and a pick.

What is Rangers hockey supposed to be? We’re not playing well and not playing our game, but what is our game? Does anyone even know? We’re not a fast team. We’re not a defensive, counter-punching team. We’re not a heavy team (though we probably could be if we wanted to). The Rangers look to be a collection of players placed out there on the ice and then we just hope for the best. The roster needs to be constructed with an identity in mind and we have none.
