Haha. LikeTrue. It doesn't matter who scores more. The winner is determined by who had the higher xGF%.

You mean the Kreider-Kane…and Who? Line. Courtesy of Emily Kaplan.I feel like today's lines were clicking. The Panarin-Zibanejad-Tarasenko line was cooking. The Kreider-Torcheck-Kane line had their moments. Saw some life back in the kid line. I'd stick with these lines for a little while to see how things go.
McGregor only dapping up Kakko. And they say he's not an ALPHA!!
There's no need to rush him back. Add him to LTIR and maybe give a kid a look.
It makes me wonder if management mishandled the situation. Could have LTIR, and we wouldn't have had to dance around being short handed when we traded for Kane. Maybe they didn't think it would take this long for him to recover?

If Lindgren can return this week, it’s a fair argument against having designated him for long-term injured reserve last week. LTIR requires a 10-game and 24-day absence, so if Lindgren had gone on LTIR, he’d be out for at least five more games. There’s also the salary-cap scenario that would have prevented it from happening right away, since putting Lindgren on LTIR to make the Kane trade would have eaten up all the extra cap space with just Kane’s contract and not allowed the Rangers to solve their roster issues.
But if it had been done last week, the Rangers could have called up extra bodies at forward and defense. They could have gotten a look at Matthew Robertson, given a couple of games to Zac Jones and lessened the burden on the five defensemen who carried the load during that wacky week.
It’s far from a clear decision, even if Lindgren misses Tuesday’s game against the Capitals.
I think that’s wrong. He’d be able to return this Sunday against NashvilleIf he's back in the next 3 or 4 games then he wouldn't have been LTIR eligible.
Staple wrote this after Sunday's loss:
Whether we think it better to rest him or not, management clearly didn't want to handicap themselves and have him be healthy but ineligible to play. I think that's fine tbh.

It seems obvious to me the Rangers didn’t put Lindgren on LTIR because they were going to get dinged by the league for the cap shenanigans to get Kane
Sucks but it is what it is

Wasn't it less being dinged by the league and more that because we were already so close to the cap that any LTIR would move us into the zone where we don't actually accrue cap space anymore even theough we can go over the upper limit, and we didn't have enough accrued space to get Kane?It seems obvious to me the Rangers didn’t put Lindgren on LTIR because they were going to get dinged by the league for the cap shenanigans to get Kane

I could be wrong but I think that what you're talking about would only apply while Kane was still on the Blackhawks. Once the trade went through and Kane's salary was on the Ranger's books, we could have (in theory) retroactively put Lindgren on LTIR. At least that's my understanding of it.Wasn't it less being dinged by the league and more that because we were already so close to the cap that any LTIR would move us into the zone where we don't actually accrue cap space anymore even theough we can go over the upper limit, and we didn't have enough accrued space to get Kane?

Currently fox is sliding between each unit depending on when he came off. Its actually better this wayNot agreeing with the team’s decision to play Harpur with Jones down in Hartford.
Harpur has size, but doesn’t utilize it and as soon as he finds the puck on his stick, he looks to get rid of it without thought.
Jones would be able to QB the 2nd PP unit and Jones can carry the puck through zones.
Lindgren was injured days before we acquired Kane. In the same way the league said we created our emergency by trading for Kane and denied us emergency call ups they may have deemed that we held Lindgren off LTIR purposefully until after we acquired Kane to fudge the cap. I don’t know. But who knows? It’s just us pulling our opinions out of our asses with incomplete knowledge of the specifics. We don’t know the extent of the injury, we don’t know if the injury turned out to be worse than the medical staff thought it would be, we don’t know if he had a setback, we don’t know when he will be out till… so we don’t know if Drury made a good decision or not. And what people say about it by and large is based on their pre existing bias pro or con Drury. Hahaha. The most obvious thing to you is that they were afraid to get "dinged by the league" by doing everything exactly according to the book? On what grounds exactly?

It is a shame we really never got a chance to see Jones qb the second unit which has a decent amount of skillNot agreeing with the team’s decision to play Harpur with Jones down in Hartford.
