After finally watching the Islanders game, gotta say that I'm pretty impressed with how NHL-ready Fox appears to be.

Also, if you told me two years ago that our right side would be 10x better than our left side on D in 2019, I would've said that you're high. But, here we are.

DQ specifically said that the lines from Game 4 were much more akin to what the opening night lineup would be than tonight and Saturday.

So, don't read too much into the lines for the last two games.

The only thing is that everything appears to be what it would be outside of Kravtsov on the outside. I'd say Kravtsov would have to do some wonderful things to crack the lineup at this point.

That Matt Tkachuk kid would sure look nice here.
Trouba style.

Not too many teams would refuse his services, modern day power forward/goal scorer.

I'll take either Tkachuk. his brother on the Senators is supposed to be the better brother down the road. both teams are lucky. i wanted Tkachuk, Kravtsov during their draft years so I was happy with the result. 1 out of 2 aint bad. so glad they passed on Wahlstrom. bust type of prospect. overrated in my opinion

See to me Andersson is exactly what you want a fourth line center to be. I think he can add a lot of value there as he grows. Nasty kid to play against. Will get better on the Pk and can move up in the lineup when needed.

Guy needs to be WAY more than a 4th line center for a 7th overall pick...

He's got middle 6 upside. Think Ryan Callahan but smarter... But he's not going to get there this year IMO. Give it one more season

Exactly what I was as thinking as well. He man handled Oliver.

Lias is already a good fourth line center at 20. That's great news, he is basically at his floor right now, only going up from here. That would be nice to see him gain confidence while moving up the ranks. Try him on PP2 if it goes stale this year as well.

I obviously agree however this is who he is and he can still be valuable in that role. I don’t see middle 6 upside. I don’t see the motor Callahan had or even the skill and that’s not saying much.

If Lias Andersson manages to carve out a contributing role for himself anywhere on this team, it will not matter to me at all where he was drafted. The only two players picked after him who have thus-far exceeded their draft positions have been Robert Thomas and Filip Chytil, and we can’t have everything.

Which royally pisses me off. AV used to do the same thing: keep mixing and matching right up through the last preseason game, and then we look like **** to start the season. Awful personnel management.

And even from the game against the flyers, Sam and Joe mentioned that AV is actually going to use his closest opening day lineup his last 2/3 games, so even AV can learn from his mistakes. Get your **** together, Quinn.

I agree with this, but see Malhotra, Manny for context

Really... no offense, therein lies the issue, NO OFFENSE! lol...

I think it's hard for us to realize he probably could've been a late 2nd-4th round pick. However, there's nothing bad about a bottom-six player and, really throughout his SHL career, is what he seems to be at the NHL, probably a 3rd liner. To me, he hasn't seemed to so much as anticipate offensive plays like top-six prospects do right away. Chytil's an example. Not a difference-maker yet but he at least tries to get to the right spots. DeAngelo was the same way.

Guys like Fast are the other kind. He showed offensive awareness off the bat. Not enough skill, obviously.

I think a guy like Lemieux will continue to get better and better. Too bad we didn't have to offer him a cost controlled three year deal. He's going to have a strong year and get a big raise.

It is September but you have managed to clinch the worst hot take of 2019.
