While the all may be true, it’s important to remember that Lekkerimaki is a Canuck.

Yea I think he’s still a very intriguing player to have who projects well even if he’s not Pasta. Especially if Petey and Miller can stay and get their shit together

I think what Lekkerimaki has shown/done is very encouraging. Let's hope he manages to stay healthy and continues to develop.

My biggest concern with Lekkerimaki is that Tocchet might not be the coach for him. As in he may not reach his full potential here.

Certainly, but nobody is using someone like Pastrnak as a comparable for any reason other than every Canuck prospect is the best possible one forever

Yup.

One must be very careful about making projections like that. I can see why the comparison was made, but it's not really helpful to the poor kid. If you are pencilling 100 points perennially into the lineup like 4 years down the road and you're right, I'm very happy for you.

But there's a personality behind the player and why they make plays out there that they do. It's funny how when you speed everything up, trouble begins. It's much harder to crash a car at 50kph rather than 100kph. It's much easier to make a bad play at the NHL level than even the AHL level.

How is Lekkerimäki after that fall into the boards? Felt a bit scared seeing that :-(

Seems to me that Abbotsford and the Canucks really err on the side of caution with injuries to their younger players. Lekkerimaki has missed a lot of time. And Klimovich has missed a ton of games to injury over the past three seasons.

And Raty and Sasson have also missed a chunk of time. I guess the focus is on 'player development' rather than wins and losses--so there's no urgency to rush guys back into the lineup.

Lekkerimaki splitting his time between the weight room and the buffet table is probably the most effective use of his time right now.

This kid deserves to be #1 in the prospect rankings. I cannot stomach the boring hockey anymore, offensive talent like his is just what we need in the middle six.

Tochett will turn him into a 5 goal Hoglander and bench him any time he makes a small mistake.

I think it's the trauma built up over the years. Remember when we didn't draft Nichushkin? It was like we missed out on drafting the next Kopitar!
