Namestnikov Andersson Fast

-would be my 4th line

I’ve liked Lemieux and Howden together in the past. I think Strome on the right does the job. I’d love for it to be Kravtsov eventually but right now it’s Gotta be Strome.

-That’s my 3rd line
There’s the rub. There’s an awful lot of it’s gotta be this guys spot bc of a glut of forwards.

Honestly I think chytil begins the season as the 2c but I don’t think it lasts long. Think he eventually ends up on the 3rw as it’s shaking if he isn’t sent to Hartford to play with kravtsov.

Personally I’d rather see kravtsov get to play with chytil and chytil get to play huge minutes next to kravtsov in the A. Let them become a dominant duo down there and then bring them up around the trade deadline and if andersson/howden are manning the 2nd/3rd lines effectively then a lot of the time they should be able to play the defensive minutes and situations and we could have a skill 4th line with chytil/kravtsov and one of our versatile forwards (fast, strome, names)

This is how we’re breaking camp, book it:

Pan Mika Buch
Krieds Chytil Kakko
Names Lias Strome
Lemmy Howton Fast
Kegerator

Skjei Trouba
STaal ADA
Hajek Fox
Mr Versatility
This will last 3 games before the tweaks start. Rykov, Krat to start in AHL and be up by Xmas.
You nailed the opening roster dunno about the combos though.

This is 100% accurate. I’d bet pretty good money.

Lindgren couuuuuld sneak into Hajek’s spot, but I think this is exact. Howden and Andersson could flip flop, more than once.

Oh, and I'm going to be goddamn pissed off of they play both Andersson and Howden at C but give a better assignment to Howden. I like Howden but Andersson is the more talented player and thus far has looked far superior, IMO.

Agree with consensus that Kravtsov may be ticketed for the AHL to start. Which is good, he should gain a lot down there.

Funny though, I can think of a couple posters who said there was no chance that would happen. Same for Shesterkin. Guess we'll see!
People said that about Shesterkin?

Yeah, though I will acknowledge it was more towards the end of last season, when it was possible at least in theory that Georgiev would be moved (which would have been a dumb idea, but whatever). Some of it was based on the idea that he would go back to Russia for a year instead of earn a comparably tiny AHL salary, but for a couple others it was just that he would be too good to be sent down there.

I personally feel Kravtsov should make this team but it certainly won’t hurt him to play a few months in the A to cook a bit.

But Only for a short time. Gorton has to move one of 90 16 or 17 quickly.

I don't think I was among the posters who said "no way AHL" but with your acknowledgement above regarding Shesterkin's situation shouldn't there be a similar one for Kravtsov? I mean for all intents and purposes Kreider (or Buch) was assumed to be gone this summer once Panarin was signed. Same with one of Namestnikov and Strome.

I don't think you were, either! And yeah it was the same for Kravtsov, I mentioned him in my first post, I only elaborated on Shesterkin because 31 specifically asked about him.

Looks about right. Personally I would swap Lias and Chytil, but I am not in charge.

If Andersson is ready for 3C, and its believed by mgmt and Quinn that Howden won't be a top-six forward, then its time to see if anyone else would and what we could get. If Andersson is ready, it would be detrimental for him to be in Hartford. Same goes for Kravtsov.

Kravstov needs to work on some timing and not trying to dangle every play. I want to seem him slaloming through entire teams but maybe he needs a few months in the A to get there in the NHL.

Preferable to moving Howden would of course be to shop Names/Kreider/Fast/Strome early, but given our cap situation it would still be for pennies on the dollar. Moving Howden has less of a cap factor, and could be done sooner, with little to no loss of value.

if/when Panthers waive Schemitsch, i would encourage Gorts to claim him,
young (not yet 23) RHD w size, obvi more NHL ready than Keane; from little i know, like him better than Raddysh

can always try to waive him down later
Thomas Schemitsch at eliteprospects.com
"Schemitsch plays a good offensive game, but is a solid two way defenseman, not purely offensive. He has great size and skates well. He is very smart, too"

If he can't make Florida over the immortal trio of MacKenzie Weegar, Ian McCoshen, or Josh Brown for their 6/7/8 spots, I don't want him to begin with.

Namestnikov should be traded for tape if he cant be a top 6
There's no market for a middle 6er without a standout skill making $4M. Probably closer to the deadline.

He's also probably more useful to the NYR than the 3rd rounder ins 2022 they'll get for him.

trading Howden would be dumb, if Lias(McKegg/Boo) earns his spot, no reason not to just demote him and let him play top 6 , all situations for Knoblauch for a few months
