Is Winnipeg going to go from a right side of, Buff, Myers, Trouba to Pionk and friends in 1 year?

Even if Buff shows up, he is (or at least seems to be) an injury waiting to happen.

I talked about this earlier last season. Winnipeg wasn’t super high on Myers — but it was so good obvious that Myers would get a very high UFA offer. Giant RD, the same age as Chara was when Boston signed him. He wasn’t staying in Winnipeg for the 4-5m Winnipeg thought he was worth. Trouba wanted to bolt ASAP. How many games per year will Buff play on average the coming seasons? Now he might even call it quits.

My opinion is that we became a bit too down on Pionk, and Neal also felt the pressure at the end. We look at stats but don’t quite take into account the impact of usage and a bunch of stuff. Pionk can potentially log minutes. But shouldn’t get the primary shut down minutes.

Pionk has more value for Winnipeg than what was perceived.

I am glad he did not pick the Rangers. I rather the Rangers go after someone younger like when they signed Zuccarello as an unknown. Rangers should keep searching for the next hidden gem.

I wouldn't call Zucc an unknown. He had a great Olympics that year and lots of teams were after him. Even then, it took a few years for him to become a consistent NHLer.

he was an unknown as far as not many knew about him before the Olympics that year, in my opinion. i was hoping Meskanen can be the next Donskoi type of player for us

Idk why people are chiding the Jets with a RHD of Pionk and company. You know with the Rangers luck he's going to end up as the next Duncan Keith now that we locked up Trouba.

watch him be the next Tony Krug knowing the Rangers luck. he will score his 1st hat trick in a 4-3 Rangers OT Loss to start the Rangers season lmfao

I respect you but there is no shot in hell Pionk becomes anything close to Keith.

That team is in disarray. And if he has to become a first pairing RD by default it wont serve his chances any good to develop into even a Keith-lite or anything of the sort.

I don't know what Pionk will become--I wish him the best--but people here were way too hard on him. He was a rookie, thrust into a role he wasn't ready for because everyone else was worse.

I was being facetious.

I actually do like Pionk and think he's better than the reputation he gets, but in no way do I think he's the next Keith.
