This is what I imagine how Vegas' front office operates when they see the possibility of a shiny new toy on the market
I think we are all underrating the potential for age and injury to have degraded Panarin’s ability. That’s a separate discussion, but it’s entirely possible, even likely, that what we saw from him last playoffs, and most of last year frankly, is who he is now.First of all, you have to qualify for the playoffs. Without Panarin, this is a bottom-5 offensive team in the NHL.
21-22 is really the only year Panarin wasn't good at even strength and he was on a terrible line. The idea that Panarin is Patrick Kane at even strength is an invention of recency.
And Patrick Kane has three Cups and a Conn Smythe. So does Ovechkin have a Conn Smythe and he scores about as many goals 5v5 as Lafreniere does with first line minutes. Guys who just score and do it with PP1 time are etched all over the Cup.
Eichel for Tkachuk could make some sense. This is what I imagine how Vegas' front office operates when they see the possibility of a shiny new toy on the market
He's 30. He's not degrading.I think we are all underrating the potential for age and injury to have degraded Panarin’s ability. That’s a separate discussion, but it’s entirely possible, even likely, that what we saw from him last playoffs, and most of last year frankly, is who he is now.
He looked really good with Copp for like two games before the end of the season. I am holding out hope. I am also holding out hope that removing his buddy from the situation forces him to play better at ES next year.
He has arrived.
I’m interested to see how Gallant manages to fit Kakko - Chytil - Laf - Krav all on one line that he can bench for the entire 3rd period in a close gameOn that note, I'm looking forward to another season of Lafreniere and Kakko getting scratched/demoted because "there's aspects the game where we need to see more from them" or some other platitudinous verbal drool.
Meanwhile, Panarin ignores an open path to the net, backhand passes to the ghost of Rod Gilbert, goes off for a change on the ensuing 3-on-1, and plays 26 minutes.
Our last three coaches have been AV, college softball dad AV, and cool grandpa AV.
Actually, I shouldn't be that hard on Quinn and Gallant. AV would still have Adam Fox on the third pair.

Maybe by February he’ll get Trochek’s spot on PP1Lafreniere is gonna be so good next season that even Gallant wont think to bench him
Panarin haven’t had an easy ride the last couple of years. The rift with Quinn. Wilson. The smear campaign in Russia.
He wasn’t in form for camp. It’s not even speculation, you could easily tell that he was winded way beyond normal, didn’t have the jump etc etc etc.
That carried over the full season. I saw a picture how he looked ripped towards the end of the season. Was he injured?
Now that Strome is gone, maybe GG might actually experiment with the lines because he can't glue Panarin and Strome together! Here's an idea
Lafreniere-Zibanejad-Kakko
Panarin-Trocheck-Kreider
It's actually starting to make sense to me that Kreider is the one to move over. He's just gonna go in front of the net anyway.
Nah they'll still glue Kreider and Zibanejad together, another duo that hasn't really worked since Bill Cook was their linemate but it worked once so let's stick with it.Now that Strome is gone, maybe GG might actually experiment with the lines because he can't glue Panarin and Strome together!
I mean, I don’t question your assessment of the coaching. But are you basically implying that this is how Panarin has always wanted to play and Gallant is finally the coach that’s allowing him to do it? That doesn’t seem likely. He's 30. He's not degrading.
He just stopped doing everything but rushes because the morons coaching this team enable it. At least the GM seems to be taking steps against it.
Kakko and newhook performed on the same pace….Lol man
When young players underperform on our team the excuse is that our teams too stacked so they play a smaller role. When young players play well on other teams if the teams good they’re just playing well because they’re on stacked team, if their teams bad they’re playing well because they get to more opportunity.
That is a absolutely horrible dealI’d offer Chytil, Kakko, Lundkvist, Panarin for signed Tkachuk
Ovi is WAY more then a PF.
Go back to NHL 22I’d offer Chytil, Kakko, Lundkvist, Panarin for signed Tkachuk

That lineup is just awful.Laf and Chytil centering the 3rd and 4th line..what..I like it, but I got an even better one:
Kreider-Ziba-Kravy
Goodrow-Trocheck-Kakko
Panarin-Laf-Hunt
Reeves-Chytil-Blais
More than he's worth. Look what Brady is paid in Ottawa. Or rather, what it took for Ottawa to sign him compared to what he had to show at that point. How much Tkachuk want on that next deal?
The Rangers have the pieces to do it but idk
I just threw up in my mouth.I like it, but I got an even better one:
