The problem with the Tkachuk situation is that while he is a player we could seemingly use someone like, we have too many wings and not enough centers as it is, and on top of that we can't come close to affording him. There's not even anyone we can move to afford him. It would have to be Trouba AND someone else. And for a wing, when we need centers, I'm just not going there.

The next problem is that the only teams out there with cap space to afford him are, like, our arch enemies.

Philly, NJD, the Isles.

Ugh.

Plus, there's zero reason to have Blais in the top 6 and only very little reason to have him in the top 9.

He's the most overrated player on our roster.

Blais seems like the guy that goes at the deadline, not as an asset, but just to clear money for when they get Kane or whatever expiring contract they trade for the playoff run.

If Blais is healthy still at that point I see almost no way they would move him. He is literally the definition of a heavy, hard-hitting player you need in the playoffs.

Try to get it out of someone who need RHD help.

I don’t know that he has that value though. Then again, griffin reinhart went for a mid 1st…
Edmonton trying to shed cap and move Barrie. It's a longshot but if they find a taker for Barrie, I'd take McLeod. Really impressed me in the playoffs.

Lundkvist ( even with a + ) for McLeod

I don't think it'll be a big trade.

Kyrou + Neighbors for Tkachuk

Tarasenko to wherever he would accept a trade. Maybe he'd be willing to go to Calgary
That’s a big trade bro. Don’t think Calgary will get anyone on Kyrou’s level

Has Blais ever been healthy tho

Blais is rarely healthy for the entire year and thats a problem but he is a better player than people give him credit for. I remember Blues fans saying he was a large part of their cup run. If he stays healthy he will make an impact.

Canucks need RHD help badly, they may see Lundkvist as redundant with Hughes but they do love their Swedes

No its actually a good landing spot for him.

3rd pair and 2nd PP duties where he isn't going to be counted on to QB the unit as that isn't his game.

I'd love Hoglander straight up, but that isn't happening. They're going to run the risk of being pretty bad next year so a 1st is probably out of the question too.

We know that. They finished 5 points out of a playoff spot. I don't know that their management group believes that. Maybe we could pry a 1st.

Jake Neighbors is from Calgary. The Flames will probably want Neighbors in the deal.

I read their owner Murray Edwards is not interested in a rebuild.

Matt Duchene doesn't have a restriction clause this season. Nashville could trade Duchene to Calgary. How big money players can Nashville afford? Ryan Johansen doesn't have any clauses. Forberg is at $8.5M. They added McDonagh's $6.75M.

If they can deal one of Johansen or Duchenne, Tkachuk should be a no brainer add. They would be a contender with that goalie

They can't keep Laf out of the top 6 anymore, likely the same with Kakko or these kids are gonna wanna play somewhere else. Lafreniere has earned that spot, Kakko may still have to earn it but he should get the chance to as well.

I'm giving GG one more season of trying to create matchup nightmares by having a deep top 9 by way off rolling out the kid line as that third line.

I'd rather put Laf and KK with Torch on the second line (like that second option), but won't get my hopes up for that to happen.

I forget his wording, but Staple suggested on a podcast during the season that Nils would prefer to be moved. With the Rangers' recent history with such matters, I would be sweating profusely the moment they assigned him to Hartford.
