$2M is too low for 2 years. $2.3M-$2.4M.

So many players in Kakko's situation are also unsigned.

It's part of the process.

I have been following in the inane prattle going on between the Montreal and Winnipeg people on different boards. Winnipeg doesn't want Guhle and they want a righty. Barron is a righty. Winnipeg has interest in Lundkivist. Arthur Staple wrote the Rangers and Jets discussed Lundkvist at the trading deadline. Staple mentioned Lundkvist would be included in trade talks regarding Dubois. The Rangers signed Trocheck. The Rangers would take Guhle if Winnipeg wants a righty instead of a lefty.

Lundkvist to Winnipeg for Guhle as part of the Dubois trade from Winnipeg to Montreal.

The Rangers could do some nasty things with 3 seasons of Guhle on his ELC.

A defense corps of Fox, Miller, Schneider and Guhle. The Rangers would be very good for a very long time.

They Really should be eyeing Guhle. If he is in the proposed deal for PLD and they prefer a righty the Rangers should be all over that to help facilitate the trade. Gorton can even back fill Guhle with one of his favorite lefty defenseman in Hajek, and add another guy he targeted who is a local boy who requested a trade in Gauthier.

I’m convinced motte signed with the islanders. He’s too good/valuable to be out there that long. He’s the type of player teams love to overpay in free agency.

Lou is the worst and refuses to let anything leak. If I remember correctly they waited 2 months last year to announce parise and czikas signed. He also loves to pay 3rd and 4th liners.

He just seems like a miserable man. Would hate to have him running my favorite team with how unnecessarily secretive he tries to keep everything. Only thing I’ll ever feel bad for an islanders fan for.

I said this in the Around the NHL thread but if I were Calgary, I wouldnt trade Tkachuk. They will not get fair value on the market. They should sign Kadri, keep Matthew and try to win a Cup next year. They are still a good and talented team with a solid goalie. He will walk at the end of the year but they should go for it.
They are really not that good. They just have quality depth, like the 2010 two 2015 Kings, and coincidentally possibly the best coach in the NHL.

I'm marrying into a family of Islander fans next spring (dont worry my fiance has converted to the Rangers) and its so funny to see them all realize that Lou has run the team into the ground. They were talking a lot of shit the last 2 years. Pride comes before the fall

The good thing is that you can post what you want because they are unlikely able to read it.

But the buy-out window passed. There's another buy-out window, but only for players making more than Reaves and teams with arbitration cases.
I thought the 2nd window included goons, my bad

Crazy how young our top 6 is.

Random thought from this tweet, do we think Buffalo is going to be... gulp.. good this year? My wife is a Sabres fan. Can't have any of that. I need them to stay a laughing stock.

We have a very healthy relationship.
Just tell her that you don’t remember specifically what the board sages said but the words that came up most often were donkey and something else

Just read some of Vince's articles and listened to his last podcast episode. I give our beat a lot of shit, cause they deserve it, but I agree with a lot of things he said and wrote. The projected lineup he has is the exact one I expect, except he has Hunt starting and I think Carpenter starts because he is a center and I think Kreider might move to the right and Laf plays left side of Z.

As far as Trocheck is concerned, I like the signing and a point he made is one I made and still agree with, if Chytil breaks out, or maybe a future center (BMB? Korczak?) breaks out, and plays in the top 6, Trocheck out of all the centers available would serve as the best 3C. He is good on both sides of the puck, has a great motor, plays all situations and great on draws. His cap hit will look better as the years go and the upper limit rises.

I could see Rydahl and/or Trivigno playing their way in and Hunt maybe an odd man out. Rydahl's size and center capability and Trivigno's potential and motor make them good candidates to steal spots and push Hunt out and maybe Reaves to the 13th forward spot, which I think is perfect for Reaves since he is older now.

I think the Rangers had equal to even more talks with Vancouver about Garland then they ever had about Miller. I think that is the type of player Drury likes and I think they hope Trivigno can be that guy for cheap.

7th youngest team in the league, 2nd youngest D. Could get even younger without even injecting the top pick guys like Cuylle, Othmann, Berard, etc. Things are interesting to say the least. Is it September yet?

Vince cracks me up. A few months ago he was giving Kravtsov like a 1 percent chance of staying a Ranger, but now that it's obvious he was wrong his "sources" are saying Kravy has a spot. I mean, he' s probably the best we got but shit like that annoys me.

It's not possible for things to change?

Vince doesn’t have the depth of sources that others have yet. That being said he’s also got a better understanding of modern hockey compared to most of our beat.
