If the Rangers give up all that to essentially move up 6 spots at the 2/3 turn, Drury needs to go.

What I’d suggest doing is forgetting you ever heard that rumor. It is very hard to believe that that was turned down.

No it isn’t. Robertson was not what he is when that was offered, he was a hot prospect but just still a prospect. It was a deadline in which JP Pageau was traded for a first, second and third. And Kreider was better. Entirely conceivable.

Lucky the Rangers have a shit ton of assets to get the things they want. They just need to spend them on the right players. Players that will be part of the team past next season.

Rangers need a 2C, 3C and another LD. A RW depending on what happens with Kakko. Sounds like a lot but we have the wherewithal and pieces to make that happen.

Based on Larry’s Strome article yesterday, the smart play at the deadline is to use lower valued assets (mid round picks, mid level prospects like Robertson) to plug some holes at forward and give it a go with this team.

It seems pretty evident that Drury doesn’t think Strome is the guy long term (thank you lord), so they’re going to look elsewhere this summer and hanging onto those valuable trade chips like the 1st, Lundkvist, Kravstov, Chytil etc will be needed to get that 2C in the summer

Schiefle reminds me of a more expensive Strome so I’ll pass on that. Horvat is a good option altough that next contract could be an issue

Don’t trade Robertson.

No idea why anyone would want him. He’s a better offensively Strome who will cost a boat load to acquire

I’d give Schneider and a first for PLD but not Scheifele.

prepared to give up a ton then for a center like him on a "decent" contract. Schneider a first plus plus would be the cost easily. Or get someone like Hertl with bad knees and who will want 8 million per on a long term deal.
