I'd like to give Chytil a season at the 2C. By no means do I think he's the perfect solution... in a perfect world you'd like a talented 2-way center next to Panarin, sure. He is what he is, faceoffs is not a strength, defense is meh, plays pretty soft.. but he does have good offensive abilities. I think he's got enough talent to hang with Panarin, plus hes got some experience with KK. Kakko continuing to grow into a strong 2-way foward should mitigate some of those defensive shortcomings.
If he plays well it's a lateral move from Strome, if he doesn't it's a downgrade.. but the major advantage is the cap flexibility. It opens up a number of options and really allows you to fill out the rest of the roster. You can go out and grab a Chychrun to really bolster the D up and buff up the foward depth with a player or 2, whether that be through free agency or trades. Maybe bring in a good matchup center for that 3rd line.. Should give you a much deeper team.
To me there's really no rush to push for an immediate solution at 2C. I think a lot of this teams problems get solved through bolstering the depth and the further growth of our young guys, rather than finding a marginal upgrade to center one of the most talented wingers on the planet
