So we're back to the kids on the third with no ice time again.

Laf's play this postseason is gonna force drury/gallant to try and get ck on the right side.

With the addition of Motte and Vatrano it’s clear what the team was picking was a couple of guys who skate well and can create some havoc on the forecheck. Blais and Goodrow, when healthy, should provide similar (and in Goodrow’s case he did I think).

Motte to me is the type of guy the team needs to key in on. Add him to Goodrow and Blais to the bottom-6 anywhere and the team moving forward will be more versatile and better overall. Sprinkle in some young players in that grouping as they become ready and it’s a good learning ground.

Just some random thoughts for next year:
Perhaps the best choice for a winger with CK and Zib is not a speedy, shoot first winger like Vetrano, but a more physical type like Blais.
What we need at 2nd line center is a more physical presence than Strome. Who? Don't know.

But the biggest "problem" I see is that we must find a way to get more ice time, and important ice time, for Laf, KK, and Chytil: without more ice time more responsibilities, they will not grow, they will stagnate, and never become the players we want them to be. How this is going to happen, I'm not sure: Panarin and Kreider ahead of Laf (switching sides for Laf or CK would need time and work). Can Chytil be that 2nd line center? Unknown. But we need to find a way to have the kids grow. They will only do that by playing.

I really dont think the Rangers are going to let Motte leave. He's too valuable to how they want to play.

The Bobrovsky contract is going to end their Cup window before it begins. 10 mil for a rich man's Georgiev when you had Spencer Knight waiting. Him having multiple Vezina's and Hank only having 1 in the same era is a black mark on the NHL

Ignoring the salary, and there are what 4 teams that could absorb 10m a year for another 5 years.
Bob had a full nmc for another full 2 years and then it’s a 16 team list.
Bob isn’t taking a move to Arizona or seattle (teams that can afford that cap hit)

For example, regarding Minnesota, Zucc has a modified NTC (10 team refusal list) that kicks in during the 2022-2023 season. Does that mean that come say July 2nd, Minnesota could move him and his 6M salary?

The BJs don’t even want Laine. He needs a new contract and will undoubtedly be more expensive than Kreider.

Just put Laf as RW1. He’s looked great there every chance he’s gotten.

The Rangers identify this and go get Vatrano, and then they turn around and put Vatrano with Zibanejad and Kreider who are a good skater and a Ferrari, respectively. By putting the fast guy on our fast line, you haven't actually made the team faster. Put Kakko there. He needs speed around him.

Keep Vatrano but play him less. Kreider, Panarin, Kakko, and Lafreniere are your top six wingers.

I cannot stress this enough: sign Paul Stastny. He'll be cheaper than Copp and sign for shorter term, and he's basically better at everything.

I'm not crazy and thinking Kreider is replicating his 50 goal season, but you literally can't complain about Kreider floating around and not using his size in the post season when Laine is the softest 6"5 player since Malik. Please stop.
