Anyone who responded to the beer cozy’s post, I’m working from home most of this week because my wife should be going into labor literally any moment, but I’ll grab your gear from the office and get it sent out as soon as I can. I’ll probably be in the office briefly either Friday or at least one day early next week.

Thank you. It’s been a weird past few days. I tore my biceps tendon at the shoulder, so it’s balled up above my right elbow and I can’t straighten my arm, but the baby could be here literally any day so I scheduled surgery for a couple of weeks from now which means I just get to live with a really sore (it’s killing me), minimally mobile arm. Meanwhile this series is giving me massive anxiety and between the injury, the stress from the Rangers and the stress of waiting for labor to begin, I feel like I’m living off of coffee, pain killers and bourbon.

You’re getting surgery? I tore mine last year and they told me they no longer fix it at the shoulder unless they go in for something else. (I also tore it at the elbow the year before that).
It does look funky a all balled up at the elbow.
Looks like I got muscles until I lift up my sleeve. Lol

How did they reattach the muscle without surgery? I asked for surgery because I can’t bare the idea of never being able to lift again and I don’t see myself letting this recover adequately otherwise. As it is I keep wanting to force my arm to fully extend or supinate. I wish I could numb the arm and forget I have it so I’d stop f***ing with it.

Tbh if you look at Tampa, a team on the verge of 3peating. They have their top end talent, but they don’t have a top9 filled with offensive players. Their stars produce. That’s the difference. Their depth plays their roles

Kucherov, Point and Stamkos lead the team offensively. We need our stars to do the same. I’ve said it so many times now but if Panarin was producing like Kucherov, we’d be going for the sweep tonight. It really comes down to that. Your handicapping yourself otherwise.

Our offensive trio is Panarin, Fox and Mika. If they play to their capabilities, we win.

And just think of this….Tampa swept Florida without Point for the entire series. Unreal.

Jones-Schneider and a veteran D to replace Nemeth for under 1 mil is the way to go. Maybe Braun wants to finish his career on a 2 year 900k AAV deal?

I would love if Braun wants to stay here. He is a underrated player. Rangers need to get quicker. I wonder if Lundkvist can be that guy for us maybe. Maybe Lundkist can be a Vatanen upside with better defense. He needs to get a real look along with Jones. I would trade Hajek for some AHL player that can help on draws. worth a shot and maybe helps the Rangers.


Athanasiou is an UFA does he finally come to NYR. Kings might resign him though 65.0% on the draw but only took 20 faceoffs
Jansen Harkins in small sample size is 63.6% on the draw but only taken 44 draws. I believe he is RFA. He is a decent depth add upgrade over Rooney

AA is not a center. He’s a wing. He takes draws when his center is kicked out. CK is a 60% faceoff win guy too.

AA played center in Detroit. He plays wing on the Kings due to their center depth.

He's a wing, absolutely terrible on faceoffs anyway, and awful defensively. He is an elite skater and a reasonable good scorer but has pretty bad hands and flubs a lot of prime chances.

Its like Panarin has an insatiable desire to only make a highlight reel play. Teams have caught on. The less he succeeds at it the more he forces it. Making the simple, smart plays is what will actually open up those sorts of plays again. When he actually starts to show a willingness to make the smart play, dump it around, safe pass, getting the puck on net, etc... teams will have to respect those sorts of things. He's become so predictable that teams know all they have to do is take away the cross ice pass. Defenders will have to back down a bit if he dumps the puck, defenders will have to challenge him if he shows he's going to shoot the puck... he's got a tremendous shot if he'd f***ing use it.That's what opens up those passing lanes. It's damn near unwatchable at this point... rant over

Rangers don’t have cap to pay to upgrade Rooney on L4. Replace him in house with Brodzinski to start the season. If Brodzinski doesn’t work, trade for short term depth. That is a much better idea than overpaying for bottom six/especially fourth line

Brendan Smith is done with us. You can tell with his interviews. He would have no interest in coming back to the rangers after being waived on his bday. Im very very doubtful he would return.

Marc Staal is done. He couldnt play 3rd pairing here the past two seasons. He is cheeks now. Not someone we need at all. He cant move the puck out of the zone, yet alone move on the ice. He is slower and worse than Nemeth and Tinordi. Enough with Marc Staal.

Neither of these players are going to happen, We have Jones, Nils, Robertson who may all be competing for that spot. Id rather have Hajek out there than Staal.

Smith was a good soldier, in the end. But he also was checked out for the first couple years of his extension. The rangers were very generous to him.

Copp had 18 points in 16 regular season games for us and has 10 points in 11 playoff games so far, while clearly injured to boot. 28 points in 27 games all told, when the games mean the most and he isn’t at full health. If anyone doesn’t think he can handle the 2C role better than Strome, you’re out to lunch. Get him signed to a fair deal, give him term if you need to keep his cap hit low and he’s a beyond capable 2C who could end up being an elite 3C on a Cup winning team if we ever find that young top-six center we’ve been after.

Panarin's defensive zone play and backchecking has suffered due to what seems to be a nagging lower body injury

But, his powerplay, offensive zone possession and maneuvering to extend players, and his breakout passing have all been a huge part of what has helped our offense deliver when needed.

Dude is still uber talented, and he is being keyed in on every time he is out there.

He is also very clearly avoiding significant contact so as to not aggravate anything.

They didn’t reattach it. I just went for physical therapy to strengthen the muscles around the shoulder.
They attached the tendons to the elbow the year before when I tore it there but for the shoulder they said they don’t do it anymore. PT gets it back to almost the same as if they did surgery.
Sounds like you did more damage than I did. Good luck with it.

I think a better question might be how unprepared was that roster for the playoffs?
their entire lineup was built to score, but thats not how you win in the playoffs.
One of their better players is actually so bad defensively his team scores more with him on the bench, and he had 100 points.

The Bobrovsky contract is going to end their Cup window before it begins. 10 mil for a rich man's Georgiev when you had Spencer Knight waiting. Him having multiple Vezina's and Hank only having 1 in the same era is a black mark on the NHL

Bob had a solid season this year. I think he was in the .915 range?
