Based on his body of work and contract status, what is equal value?Shop him for what? The Rangers aren't getting equal value for him. Keep him.

The answer to your questions is that you won’t know until you ask. This wouldn't make a lick of sense because the only thing the Rangers could really get back for him are either A.) Assets that they can't afford or B.) Futures they don't need that will likely be less successful than the Kakko pick.
And C.) He's not going to cost that much that his salary should be the first cap consideration. Nemeth and Reaves and not re-signing Strome seems to be the best avenue. Not a cost controlled bridge guy like Kakko. Nobody is offer sheeting him.
On a 5 game winning streak and 1 pt. out of a playoff spot.
Reaves has value, for sure, but he's on the outside looking in already and that's without considering the fact that Kakko and Rooney are likely days away.

Love Revo but I sort of feel he's more bark than bite these daysDon’t be surprised if Reaves doesn’t crack the top 12 forward group come playoff team. Right now I think it’s more likely we see Goodrow, Motte, Rooney, and Hunt on that 4th line. He’s 14th on the depth chart for me. Brodzinski might even push him down further.
If it’s keeping Reaves or cutting a million of salary so we can lock a long term steal Kakko deal, I don’t know how that’s even a question.
Okay, but what is the logic? The answer to your questions is that you won’t know until you ask.
Chytil has looked great… why are we just giving him another year.IMO Kakko will make his way back into 'untouchable' category by the end of this season.
I still think they are going to give Chytil another year.
I truly think this is the team we will have for next season, give or take, but with only one of Copp or Strome.
Kids will fill in other holes.
Maybe Kravtsov comes back?
Blais back.
Maybe one of Vatrano or Motte?
Not much. And the upside premium won’t likely be enough to make it worthwhile. It’s just not a good time to trade him unless the FO is convinced he’s a bust. But I would hope that’s not the case.Based on his body of work and contract status, what is equal value?
Is there a team really dumb enough to start an OS war with Dolan’s pocketbook? There would be guaranteed retaliation if Kakko or Laf sign an OS. I could see Montreal throwing money at Laf, but idk who is gonna do it with Kakko.

I think laf is where the risk of an offsheet lies, as we'll likely be tighter on the cap after we sign kakko, and then miller is also an RFA the same year, and someone we want to lock up for a long deal too. There probably would be eventually, but if a GM tenure is probably around 5 years, would you care now? Everyone knows the Rangers will be up against the cap for the forseeable future, both with the players they currently have, plus the expected payments to guys like Laf, Miller moving forward. Unless the Rangers are going to make major moves for cents on the dollar to clear cap, I wouldn't be too worried about NYR offer sheeting my young guys.
Having said that, I don't think we'll see an offer sheet for KK, but I assume a few GMs are doing some investigation into feasibility anyway
because either he flatlines and we need to move on for a player who fills a role, or he takes off and we can't afford him.Chytil has looked great… why are we just giving him another year.
Copp at center gives Panarin the ability to play with another skill player at right wing.
Most of you must see the benefit in that.
It was one guy that quite literally bitches about everything under the sun.Ranger fans deserve nothing if you guys are bitching about Adam Fox and his deal lmao
What do you attribute Tom Wilson looking like Filip Chytil last time we played?Love Revo but I sort of feel he's more bark than bite these days
Yeah I know he's way too low on staged fights for the guys that still think it's 1980.Love Revo but I sort of feel he's more bark than bite these days
Can’t fathom any GM willing to give up both a 1st and 3rd for Chytil. I could see only a 3rd though.Maybe I’m in the minority but I’d prefer to trade Chytil somewhere they can add some picks, say Montreal or Buffalo, and re-sign Vatrano.
Chytil for a late 1st + 3rd
Vatrano for 4 years at $3m
Chytil and Lundkvist for Cozens? Physical power center with an edge.Maybe I’m in the minority but I’d prefer to trade Chytil somewhere they can add some picks, say Montreal or Buffalo, and re-sign Vatrano.

Agreed, no chance giving up on him is the right move - barring a major over payment of course. He's shown so much progress and this season getting injured really sucked.I didn’t ask a question. It’s a non starter for me, at this point, to give up on Kakko.
