Here's a weird one:

Offensive zone start % at even strength for the Winnipeg centers:

Scheifele = 58.1%
Dubois = 59.8%
Copp = 57.3%
Stastny = 51.5%

Who the hell gets the d-zone starts?

Doubtful. We know you are plugged in now that we know about your groundbreaking success in Eastside Hockey Manager that you shared with us the other day. I think you need to call Gerard and let him know he’s doing it wrong.
Nils Lundkvist was my coach for most of that success. Something to think about.

This is cool.

They obviously just start in the offensive zone a lot more than other teams.

The weird part about it is that they're middle of the road in corsi, so you wouldn't expect them to.

It's generally the teams shooting the most that finish and restart in the offensive zone the most. The old Kings Cup teams that had like 58% corsi started in the o-zone like crazy.

Those same guys do. Winnipeg has had 437 offensive zone starts and 299 defensive zone starts this season. What does that make the percentage? 59.3% as a team.

Interesting. I assumed those numbers were offensive zone deployment as a percentage of that players overall starts. So basically 59% offensive zone starts would be that as a total of their own starts, say there were 100 total, 59 out of those 100 were in the offensive zone.

Where is all this acquistion money coming from? $82.5 M cap. MAX! I seriously doubt we can resign Strome even. Which may be best, but that's another issue entirely...

Watching the Red Wings/ King game. Detroit feed posted this in regards to top 5 picks from 2020 Draft

Laf- 34pts in 101 games
Byfield-2pts in 12 games
Stutzle- 50pts in 92 games
Raymond- 35pts in 45 games
Jake Sanderson- -- --
Drysdale- 27pts in 72 games

As much as I think he is a considerable upgrade at 2c, PLD isn't going to happen.

Peg gave up a high end piece in Laine plus, PLD's family lives in or just outside Winnipeg. He's home.

Unless they try to squeeze him I don't see him not extending, or, at least testing UFA just to get a fair number to go back to Cheveldayoff with.

This conversation in regards to Dubois is EXACTLY the reason why I am super hesitant to be giving away prime assets for rentals or players who won't be here very long. Guys like Dubois become available for various reasons, some of which are known, some are not. By stockpiling and continuing to play a smart and patient acquisition gameplan they can make sure they are ready to pounce once something opens up.

I'd like to think Sammy Blais is healing up faster during the next 2 weeks because we have no games.
Freakin subban! Surgery was mid december so hopefully rehab is going well almost 2 months in. Hopefully he will be 100 percent and ready to go in September!

Arizona is a league embarrassment and should be moved. Makes our league look like the KHL.

Fair warning- half of PLD's goals are on the power play this season. He hasn't killed penalties at all this year, and also has the single most minor penalties taken by a forward this season with 25.

For comparison- Strome has only 18 minor penalties.

Mark Scheifele is legitimately a PPG center. The comparison's to Ryan Strome are beyond laughable. He's been better than Mika for the vast majority of his career. One slightly down season is absolutely not the reason to not be in on him.

You want to talk about mediocre defensive stats, sure - but he'd easily be 1B, if not 1A to Mika. If you get him - you than focus on 2 stout defensive lines below them - but to dismiss MS as a Ryan Strome is comical.

If you can make the cap work, and keep the KK/Laf --- You offer Krav, Lundkvist, Chytil, a 1st and more to get them to retain. If they want Miller over Lundkvist - you do that as well. His cap hit allows you get be on the same path as Strome's would for the next two years - it's doable.

If the Rangers make it to the ECF I 10000% guarantee that he will be back THIS season.

ACL rehab isn't the long crazy road that it used to be. This is assuming no set backs.

I’m not sold on PLD at all. Didn’t he kind of quit on CBJ too?

No you don't.

You can't just gloss over the fact that he's a terrible defensive player. Your top 6 is still going to eat the majority of your ice time. He isn't just bad defensively, hes straight up a colossal liability.

It's a horrible idea. People hear a name that they know and see the flashy stats and think a player is a must have when in reality, they're a poor fit.

Copp will be cheaper and actually fits.

Peak player development is to trade young forwards with potential then trade them back onto your team 3 years later.
Yeah I think we should go ahead and trade Lundqvist Kravtsov and a 1st for Miller.

Then in 3 years, we can trade Kakko and a 1st for Kravtsov.

Then we can trade Fox and Shesterkin for Lundkvist.

It definitely is better than it used to be. I got the cadaver and was back working out in 4-5 months but obviously here we are talking about a professional athlete. Depending on the type of graft used/Cadaver/hamstring would determine recovery time. He probably got the Patella tendon graft which is a quicker recovery. I guess it is possible but I wouldn't hold my breath.
